This dress is another item by La Dress… my red dress. The black and white polka dot sash is also by them.
Whenever I wear this dress I get compliments.
My husband Ron was trying to make me laugh by coming to the window threatening me with the vacuum cleaner.
So two more photos just for the fun of it.
Christmas disillusionments…. I had a few this year.
This article will hopefully make you laugh. At least that is my intention and for that I am “sacrificing” looks for laughs. As these photos do not show a lot of beauty, apart from the beauty of my stepdaughter Nicky who is celebrating her 27th birthday today.
We had a lovely afternoon on first Christmas day. With presents exchanging (not planned, still nice) and laughter. Followed by a very nice meal from the caterer (as I am a bad cook and I did not want my husband to slave over the food all day. Especially not because I am the one who has to clean the kitchen afterwards.)
My husband Ron and Nicky went outside for a sigarette and I photographed them. Ron does not really smoke. Just one very 2 months or so.
Above: yes, we wear clogs in The Netherlands, but only at farms and muddy, slushy gardens. Not in town, Ron is just one of a kind and he likes clogs.
Below: he could not resist acting silly and Nicky, being his daughter, joined in.
Nicky and I looked at some of my outfits which resulted in a top and a jeans jacket changing owners…..
The top was my idea as I did not like the neckline on me and it looked terrific on her.
And the jacket changed owners because she (unwittingly) said it looked far Too Young on me.
The “TY-words”….aaghhh.. Look at my face below. We ended up killing ourselves laughing.
Monday you will see another outfit as I will be publishing Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Two times a week was too little for me. I miss you too much.
Have a nice weekend.
You have seen my little black dress with and without a peplum. This time you will see the dress with necklaces and with my limegreen jacket which is a complete failure.
The necklaces are an obvious choice. Such a black background screams for bulky necklaces and I own quite a few pieces. The top one is made by a friend called Ina, who sadly died a couple of years ago.
Ina’s necklace with red beads, 2 jade and 1 copper pendants.
This green necklace is by Angela Caputi (have a look at the website). I bought it in Rome, knowing nothing about the brand. It has two gold-coloured round beads near my neck en flat black beads at the back. It is difficult to show the right colour of the green. The last photo shows it best.
Now for the failure:
Above and below, my failure. Trying to combine the LBD with the lime-green jacket and short booties.
I hate this look. Very unflattering.
This one is harder to understand and in Dutch. It says: “as long as your hair looks right”. It is an expression we use to end a discussion or to put things in perspective.
Because it is going to be a strange week with Christmas, I decided to post today. I will post again on Wednesday.
Lime is one of my favourite colours, much to my own surprise. Photographing my outfits made me realize that.
Just a couple of weeks ago I showed you my new lime jacket. When I bought it I knew in my heart it was totally superfluous……And yes it is. Because here is my old lime jacket. Different material (corduroy) and not my favourite as it is hard to combine.
In the near future I will show you this jacket with a beige/cream corduroy pair of trousers. Today with my trusted 7/8 black trousers and my “Hairy Harrys”.
The long necklace is made for me by a beads shop and the shorter one is made by Anja, the multi-talented girl.
Above: Anja’s necklace.
Below the necklace I had made to match a pair of summer sandals (I know…. I am a mental case.)
