This top is a thriftshop find. Quite by accident I tried it with my faux fur “scarf” and found the two were the same sort of purple. Together with my jeans and patent leather shoes, they made a very comfortable and warm combination. Rather simple but with shoes like that and a fur collar, you don’t want to add too much.
Then the trouble began.
It was snowing that day so I had to take photos indoors. Apparently because of all that white outside, the light was so harsh that I was appaled by the result. Even after 87 photos there were still no real good pictures. I looked very much my age with lots of wrinkles and bad skin. Having a bad hair day did not help either. And I did not want to wash my hair until the day after.
Therefore I have cheated a little. In two photos the light was shining through my hair, making my hair look thin and nasty, and I “added” a little hair. Not much but it made a huge improvement. And in one photo the fur collar wasn’t “styled” exactly right, showing my black top underneath… so I added some fur. Just a tiny little bit. Forgive me my vanity.
Just focus on the dog please. I used her as prop.
Till another day.
Greetje

Thanks Carla. It turned out better than expected.
That purple fur is fabulous.have a brilliant weekend.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Thank You Sacramento, it is one of my best colours.
You are too funny Greetje. So many pictures and not one good one.. I find that hard to believe! Lovely outfit today!
But you know, like most women, I am very tough on myself. And I will never publish anything that I would not want to see on the cover of a daily paper. That is my benchmark before uploading. LOL
Greetje! I so wanted to comment on this outfit but I can not stop laughing long enough to do so! 87 photos – all “bad”!!! Then you “added” some hair AND some fur!!! You can’t make this stuff up. I have just shoveled for the 7th time in the last 9 days and was feeling very grumpy but no longer. I have laughed until my sides hurt. Thank you for always cheering me up! And give sweet Charlie a pat from me.Now as for that outfit – lovely! And guess what? Purple is the color of my favorite football team – The Ravens – who are playing in the Super Bowl this Sunday! I will be wearing purple this weekend too – only I (sadly) have no fur. 🙁 The game is being played in New Orleans so I will wear many purple beaded necklaces as that is their trademark. But now it won’t be the same because once you have seen the fur – well, nothing else measures up. LOL!Suzanne
You must get very muscular by now. How high are those snow walls around your house now?I have read (and commented on) all posts and conversations at 40+Style. Was a bit behind. No problem to find a Vlaai, but we have even better stuff. Like Sylvia says.. the apple pies here in Holland are to die for.I visited Dixie Beauty’s blog today (you can find her blog address in the list on the right side of my blog) and a photo of the Amsterdam floating flower market came up. So funny. And I agree that Josep-Maria is a lovely man.
So nice if I can make you laugh. One of my main goals in life: make people laugh. And I did not make this stuff up. It is called photoshopping haha.I hope The Ravens will win this Sunday and cheer you up. Life is tough on you so I will try and keep you smiling with my articles.Oh…. and I changed my reply to your comment on the fur jacket with the 3 coloured booties from last Wednesday. It was a bit of a quick reply as my husband was waiting. But you deserve better.

You always make me laugh dear Greetje! And Josep-maria’s posts to you make me feel good about aging. That guy appreciates a mature woman! Good for the soul. :)There are some very funny conversations going on over at 40+Style too – “Engineering Math” by Rita and cookie posts by Sylvia (you must find me a “Vlaais” when I visit!) and I left you a message about the leather peplum. Now I am off to shovel – AGAIN!!!Suzanne
I am improving my shoulders and upper arms with all of the heavy lifting of snow! I keep telling myself I will look like Sylvia if I have to do this the rest of the Winter. And yes, I noticed yesterday that it is getting harder and harder to shovel as the banks are getting too high for me. My hubby has a gigantic snow blower so he can clear the drive if I no longer can do it by hand but it is good exercise until then. I do not like the big machine – it has more power than I can control and outweighs me by a lot. Not safe! Sylvia might disagree that there is a better treat than the Vlaai. LOL! But I am willing to try everything – just to be fair. I looked at Dixie’s Blog. The flowers are so pretty! I love those yellow ones with the big brown centers. We call them sunflowers. That is my style – even though my hubby buys me roses. 🙂 Now I am off to shovel yet again. My mailman told me he is so tired of the snow too. It falls every single day.Suzanne
And The Ravens won!! Congratulations !! Purple rules.
Great “filling” job with your photo retouching — can’t tell at all! If you hadn’t said anything, you could have sneaked it by, but it’s all the more humorous that you confessed! Love it.Your purples look yummy, and your ensemble is tres chic.Your top reminds me of things designed in the mid 80s – the shirred drop waist detail. Yet oh so 2013.(found you via your comment on Heather’s Plaid Skirt post)
So nice of you to leave a comment Anne. Don’t you agree that Heather is a top illustrator?I think the purple top gets a 2013-look because of the faux fur collar and the shoes. The folds on my tummy are a good disguise.
Looking fab, Greetje, and Charlie as well;-)
You look so friendly in those photos! Thanks for sharing your joy.Very smart tricks!
I nearly did not publish these photos because I thought they turned out so bad. Glad that I decided otherwise. And thank you for your kind words.
I totally agree with Josep, your looks are very attractive and elegant at your age. Wish I could look that good in jeans. Love the purple and the fur is the topping on the cake, what a great find. Give that cute prop a hug for me, he is so dang cute.
Trina: thanks for uplifting my spirits and I gave the dog a hug.Rebecca: smiling always does a lot of good. You can get away with a whole lot if you smile.
You still look great Greetje…..your smile & that faux fur did the trick!!!REBECCAwww.redtagchiclosangeles.com
This is a very flattering model for you. Drapes around your hips, a little bit longer that creates a bum. The purple colour of your top and “scarf” always combines good with jeans. This said, it applies to your figure and so not to mine, all the wrong areas exposed. I really adore your prop, but that you know.
Thanks Marianne, I was pleased with it as well. The top cost me about 9 euro I think. In our favourite thriftshop.
You look lovely and you have such a great figure. I love purple and wear it a lot myself. Keep on making us smile. 🙂 Marie S
🙂
Making you lot smile is my life purpose.
Fun outfit, and those jeans really fit you well, you have such great legs! In the last picture looking down at you dog you look about 35:)
Hahaha!
Thanks Nanne, glad you like it. And…I will keep my head down hahahaha.
Ha, ha, ha. LOL. With outside light would look age and real skin? Well that’s the beauty. See your looks so attractive and elegant on your age. Discover that wrinkles are beautiful and that age is in the brain. I love your close-ups where your defects are. In short, your same. I love the look of today, the color is beautiful and the combination is perfect. Your figure looks wonderful. There are also trick? LOL.
Now you are making me blush…
I did not remember that post, it’s great. You’re a fantastic woman.
Oh yes there are tricks to my figure as well. You know that hahaha. You commented on my article November 29, which revealed all my tricks. Remember?https://www.nofearoffashion.com/2012/11/how-do-i-keep-youthful-appearance-out.html
