Never thought I would ever buy them again, flared jeans or wide legged jeans… what is the right name? I think it is flared jeans. These are by Paige. I had never heard of that brand before and found them in a high end fashion store in Vancouver, during the 40+ blogger meet-up this summer.
Sylvia of 40+Style liked them as well and bought them too. See how she styled them (and her white flared trousers) here. As she lives in Singapore and I live in The Netherlands we happily copy each other. Truth be told I copy her more than she does me. (Thanks for your mediation with this black and white belt Sylvia haha.) View Post
Woman in the woods. That is what comes to my mind when I see this picture. (Inspired by Susanne Carillo in the travelling yellow skirt (so funny).Wide skirts… I love them. Fuchsia? One of my favourite colours. This wide fuchsia skirt was therefore too tempting to pass up.
Wide skirts are excellent for women with small hips and bum. They are also excellent for women with large hips and bum. It usually is a flattering item. If…. they are made well. This is the tricky part. Sometimes they are too narrow at the hips, deleting all advantages. Or they are too thick in the waist. Again not something you want. This skirt features 84 wedge shaped panels to create a perfect silhouette. Narrow at the top, very full at the hem. Made by Madame Hall. Owner Lisa Hall is Australian, living and working in India and professionally trained in the ‘European’ style of pattern making and garment construction. She was interviewed by Sylvia on 40+Style, where I discovered her. And fell in love with her work. View Post
Referring to last week’s post… remember? We were shopping for red pumps and I bought blue suede ones. As I was paying for them Ron was very content with my blue shoes, because…… (and I am quoting) “he had seen such a beautiful outfit in the shop across the road…. in blue”. I am a sucker for clothes that he likes. I want to buy them immediately because 1) he has great taste and knows how to style and 2) because I buy enough outfits he is not that keen on. So when I can buy and wear something that pleases both him and me… I do. The shop window across the road showed this ensemble in baby blue. (Or is it lavender?) And I liked it. View Post
After carefully examining my bank accounts, I had to admit… the bottom of the treasure chest was clearly showing. Then I saw online the most divine pumps in one of my favourite stores (Calzature) in Utrecht, and said to husband Ron: “Just as I found the perfect red pumps, my size, 50% off, I haven’t got any money left. Otherwise I would have gone to Utrecht to pick them up”. To my surprise he replies: “Oh, when we go to Utrecht, we can have coffee with Nicky”. (Nicky is my stepdaughter). Don’t you think he is an enabler? I mean… as if I need any encouragement. View Post
