orange leather pencil skirtAn orange leather pencil skirt is something out of the ordinary. I like that. The colour orange, which I like as well, made me pull the item from the rack and I was amazed how well it fit me. Usually these skirts have room for hips, which are not on my body. This thing was just straight. The shop provided the very comfortable black shirt to go with it. As I was wearing the orange necklace that day, adding it to this outfit was rather obvious. The peeptoe shoes are for the modern look although I still prefer normal pumps.

The location

Ron and I went to the Orangery on the beautiful estate Elswout where we photographed myย moss green dressย this winter. Hah.. only while typing this I realised: wearing orange at the Orangery ๐Ÿ˜€ . We had really nice weather, all bright and sunny. Which is bad for photography, especially when you are amateurs like us.

Below: The Orangery. I hope they painted it blue because it used to be the original colour. As a colour of choice… it wouldn’t have been my choice. Which is of course just personal taste.

Orangerie Elswout

We went around the building to the back for some spots in the shade. Only to find out it was the place to store the garbage containers. “Not much to see here people… move along..”

Below: All of a sudden there was this great big cloud, blocking the sun. We ran to the front and Ron started to shoot.

Below: I like this picture as it has motion in it. Contrary to my usual posing. (Still not improving in this field.) My eyes seem closed, probably because I was looking down to avoid a fall.

Below: Ron commented on this shot in terms like “va va voom”. I take that as good ๐Ÿ˜† The zipper can be opened from the bottom and the top. Let’s hope my colleagues won’t play a prank on me by opening the zipper without me noticing.

Below: Shot with the lovely building behind me. Ron said: “You are holding the bannister again!” But he did take the shot.

Below: Me trying to fold back my waistband (not a pretty face). As I have a very short waist (ribs are very close to the hipbone), that darned waistband folds down all the time. I found a solution by adding a black belt. That also elongates my top part and balances things better. Not in these pictures though. Only learned that afterwards by looking at these photos.

The rest of the location

Below: A last shot of the building before we headed back. The sun is blazing and no clouds in sight.

Orangerie Elswout

Below: The orangery you saw above is on a large estate and I presume this is the house where the family lived.

Below: Lovely deers on the premises.

Below: “A tree house!!” I yelled. “No….” said Ron, “…. this is the stable.”

Below: Just one last shot on the bench in the shade.

Below: And it is time to go. The whole shoot cost us an hour. We were both not that thrilled about these photos. They could have been more exciting which means we are getting critical. If I look back at the photos of 2012, this is a HUGE improvement.

Some last facts/information.

The bag is Longchamps. It is a proper, beautiful grown-up leather bag, but it hasn’t got my love. Don’t know why.

I am wearing tights without toes (Wolford, colour Gobi). So you see a tiny bit of my toes in the peeptoe shoe, while my legs look more smooth by the tights. At least that was the idea. Only I don’t like the way the tights are woven. They give me “old women’s legs”. Perhaps it was the colour. If you decide this is a good idea, be careful not to reveal too much “toe-bit”. Otherwise the difference between the colour of your toes and the rest of your foot/leg will be too obvious.

Till next week.
