Long scarf Essentiel AntwerpLow temperatures in The Netherlands means sweaters, leather trousers, boots and scarves. This long scarf by Essentiel Antwerp doesn’t count as winter wear. Purely for decoration. Essentiel had a dress in this print as well, which was a bit short for me. Plus, a dress with such a prominent print is something you usually don’t wear too many times. As I wear a lot of black and white (boring but my favourite combination), a scarf like this is a perfect item to jazz things up. View Post

orange sweaterAs I am always on the lookout for bright coloured clothes, I immediately spotted this orange sweater. Jumping from the rack, screaming: take me home! It combines very well with my green legging with side stripe. Only the legging isn’t that warm while the sweater is. There are fashionable people who walk around bare legged in winter to go to a party in lovely strappy sandals (you know who you are). Or who wear boots in summer with a tanktop. I cannot do that. My outfits are either for winter, for summer or for in-between. Never a mix. Which is why this orange sweater is better on jeans with boots. I might try thick tights underneath the striped legging; it was rather an awesome combination. View Post

Piazza Sempione trouser suitLast week you only saw the trousers. Today the whole Piazza Sempione trouser suit. This brand means quality. My first suit by them (many years ago) was terrific and I wore it to death. Which is why I was so tempted to buy this suit. However, it is much more “complicated” than my first one. The trousers are very wide which means dangerous. I need to hoist them up whenever I walk up or down the stairs. And when it rains I’d better do the same if I don’t want to get the hems wet. Another thing is the double breasted jacket. Beautifully made, lightweight but always more difficult than a jacket with one row of buttons. View Post
