Last week I took some time off work and spent every day with another one of my friends. I am fortunate to have many friends which means that 5 days were far too little to cover all of them. On Wednesday I started my holiday day with Helga. And on Thursday I met Marja for lunch (more about Marja later in this post.)
We, the Shopping Saturday girlfriends, hadn’t seen each other for quite a while. Holidays and work got in way, so we decided to change our outing to Shopping Sunday in Amsterdam. In the Nine Streets to be precise. Still one of the loviest areas of Amsterdam. I already wrote two posts on this area in 2013, here and here. And also one in 2016. Some shops have disappeared over the years, others are there to stay and new shops join.
We didn’t have much time and in the Nine Streets the shops are open on a Sunday from 12 o’clock. So we gathered for coffee at 11. View Post
There is this lovely little shop selling vintage bags in Haarlem. Sylvia and I had a great time looking around there. In the past I have bought a few bags of the friendly lady owner, like the grey one in this post. It started with a hobby (of course) and now she buys and sells them. I can be in that shop for a long time, looking at all the gems. This time I came out with the bright green mini bag. View Post
Anything to do with friends is high on my list. Having coffee in Haarlem with Misja on a Saturday morning is just my cup of tea (pun intended). You have seen Misja on my blog several times (like here). She is a photographer who has a Street Style blog about people over 50. Beautiful pictures and a real tribute to men and women over 50. Her blog is : misjab.nl (my link will get you to her English version). She blogs both in Dutch and English. Would be too much hard work for me. View Post
Here you see the whole outfit with the bright blue top which I wore in last week’s post. I wore it again to the brocante market in Haarlem with Sylvia of 40+Style. It is an easy outfit. As I get older, I appreciate ease and comfort more and more. Still wearing the high heels and tighter dresses, but I am getting better in saying no to uncomfortable clothes and shoes. View Post
