First I will try to upload photos. Oh gosh, succeeded. That was so easy that I feel very ashamed.
Anyway… here we go. Restarting this blog.
I have made over a hundred outfit photos for the Style Forum of the blog 40plusstyle.com. As the name says, it is a blog for women of 40 years and older. As I said before, I am 58 haha.
Having made so many photos and getting such a nice respons on my own blog from people all over the world, made me decide to start blogging myself regularly. I will not abandone 40plusstyle.com as I thoroughly enjoy that as well.
Let us start with my thriftshop buy: a yellow coat by Stile Beneton for 59 euros. I thought it was a steal.
The purple faux fur “scarf” was a present from my husband and is brand new (50 euros).
My husband suggested that I needed purple gloves to match. Silly man…. as if I need encouragement in this field. One hour and one thrift shop later I came home with purple leather gloves for 18,50 euros. What are the odds of that? They fit me like….. a glove.
The 7/8 black trousers have proven to be very, very useful as well. More about them in my next blog.
(Does a blog date itself? I bet it does. If not, it is now Sunday the 18th of November 2012.)
To my amazement there are actually people reading my articles on this blog. Not many, anyone over 1 is a surprise for me.
So I got inspired to do another post.
Yesterday I was shopping with two younger colleagues. And we helped the economy enormously. Also had lots of laughs. The three of is is often too much for a shop or a café. When I impersonate a small barking dog at the top my lungs, my friends kill themselves laughing and the shop is in an uproar.
Anyway, here is a picture of the red T-shirt I bought. Have not really found a good match for it yet. But I will keep on searching in my wardrobe until I find the perfect match.
Well……. I cannot upload a photo from my computer????!!! How did I do that before???
There is much to learn. I will come back soon.
Found it…. how can I be so stupid…. See my next post.
I was interviewed for the blog 40plusstyle.com which flattered me enormously. (For those who are interested, here is the link: http://40plusstyle.com/how-to-have-fun-with-fashion-style-lessons-from-greetje/)
When I answered the video questions I had to think quickly, which lead to a mistake. Because I said that my style had not changed much after my 30th. And I think and sincerely hope that this is not true. I am now 58.
Everytime when I look at “before” photos of a “Make-over” in a magzine I think horrible things like:
Oh girl, really! Those boots, those leggings, that short sweater….. really, you cannot do that anymore. Your body does not move as smoothly anymore as it used to, which is necessary for this style.
But I am afraid I might be exactly the same. It is so hard to see yourself as other people do.
The mirror does not give me a reflection of myself, but gives me my own perception. Nearly the same word, spellingwise, but, oh boy, is there a difference!
I can upload two photos of outfits that make me hesitate. But to you, not knowing me, it doesn’t say much. You have to see me move. Difficult issue.
With the first photo it is the small jeans jacket that bothers me. It looks good in the photo and it gives me a waist, but I am afraid it is too childish for me. In the second photo it is the wide white skirt. Again it gives me waist but…….
First and foremost….. I will never be a good blogger. No time. On the other hand… who knows in what situation I might be next year. I only have one hobby and it is an expensive one: making things pretty or prettier from head to toe. From hair to toe nails. From earrings to shoes and bags. And everything in between. I love it and I am not very good at it. So I follows blogs like 40plusstyle.com (I overqualify) and Not Dressed As Lamb or Not Dead Yet. And I learn every day. And in the slipstream I learn more about my camera (I need to take good photos to upload onto the forum of 40plusstyle.com) and about Pinterest and about creating a blog. No waisted time I would say. Another added value is the improvement of my written English. As I am Dutch, English is a foreign language. More next time, when I have figured out, how to upload photos onto a blog. Greetje Kamminga
