A lime sweater creates lots of combinations

On one of those rare sunny days in a cold and snowy spring…… I walk through town feeling very happy and content with the world. That mood makes me do reckless things like visiting the Pauw shop
I KNOW I should not go into that shop as my resistance is so low.
I KNOW I love and hate their collections for reasons I have explained in my orange safari jacket post.
I KNOW I have already spent too much money.
I KNOW I have more than enough spring/summer clothes. Much more than winter clothes (yes, I can hear you think… “good heavens”). Which is ridiculous as in The Netherlands wintertime lasts a lot longer than summertime.

What can I say? I just have no discipline when it comes to clothes. Or jewellery, or bags, or shoes….. really anything that has to do with adorning myself. In other areas I am very, very disciplined.

But have a look at the website of Pauw and see (part of) their collection. It is a miracle that I left the shop having only bought a sweater, belt and a little scarf.
At home I tried to work the scarf and belt. Easy wouldn’t you say? It wasn’t. Had to go back for explanations. They have nifty ways to make these accessories look their best.

Photographs were made by my niece, who is a professional photographer. She is teaching me and was showing me the effects of different settings, light and colours that you are wearing.

Above: with the new scarf and white trousers.
Below: with the new scarf and black pencil skirt.
Below: the striped skirt proved to be a challenge with this sweater (no scarf) as the front of the sweater went up a bit and does not follow the horizontal lines of the skirt.

Below: with a polka dot scarf and a white skirt.

And of course, with my black skinnies.

Below: indoors I could take my sunglasses off. (Showing my new bag as well.)

Below: this last photo is just to get you laughing.
I bet you laughed… Good!

They came out with something similar fr their SS 2013 collection.GREETINGS FROM DUBAIMRS JACK OF ALL TRADEShttp://mrsjackofalltradesdaily.blogspot.ae/

    1. I have forwarded your article to her. Let’s see what she says.As for the sweater I have not picked a favourite yet.

  5. I love the lime and white together with black accents, it’s a great summer combo for the office. Gotta laugh a little when the wind plays tricks on you.

  6. Lime is a beautiful colour, and it looks great on you. I especially like it with white. I realize that your outfits give me good ideas I hadn’t thought before. The last photo is very funny indeed:it made me laugh a lot!

    1. Oh good. Making people laugh is one of my goals. And I think I tend to prefer the white with the lime as well, but I am not sure yet.

  7. Thanks Heather. I think I will be too aware of the stripes and the front of the sweater going up when I wear the striped skirt. But I will give it a try.

  8. You got me with this one. I absolutely love every combination. That lime is to die for. Beautifully done…xo

    1. Takes a lot of effort (a whole afternoon), so I am glad you like it.

  9. Greetje, You certaintly know how to make us all smile and laugh for that matter. These photo’s are all so gorgeous, seriously, you look amazing in every one of them. What a great new sweater you purchased, so versatile and you did a fantastic job of showing us all the different ways to wear this bright color. Wish I could tell you my favorite but they all have a great look. You are going to have some fun with all three of your new items.

  10. Thanks for the smile this morning!Pretty color! Looks wonderful on you. I do like all the options, but my fav is with the black skinnies….just b/c that’s how I would wear it. :)Happy weekend!

    1. Jeannie… what is that b/c???

  11. Lovely sweater, belt and scarf Greetje. Love all the combos but I love the freshness of white so that’s a favorite.I went into Pauw when I was in Holland and was amazed by the large number of nice clothes they had there. Very on trend and so much for our age group! But boy oh boy, what was that shop expensive! So yes, if I were you I would avoid that shop as much as possible…..

    1. hahahaha… I know….. I know !!!

  12. Lovely outfits and combo’s, Greetje. Well done! Had to LOL, yes;-). With the stripes is very nice. Don’t be too fussy bout the sweater creeping up a bit. You ‘ll be the only one to care and notice. It looks too cool to leave out cause of that.

  13. Those pieces being so versatile came as a (pleasant) surprise to me. Glad you like it dear.

  14. I don’t have any resistance against anything that I can adorn myself with, either! My favorite is the stripped skirt and I also love the last two photos because they do make me laugh!

    1. The striped skirt is a favourite with a lot of people. I had not expected that. And I am glad I made you laugh. My life mission.

  15. You are not going to believe it, but I have been looking for that colour all morning, ahhhhhh¿ and here you are in all your gorgeous neon flair.XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    1. Yes, I could not resist this. It is so my colour..

I think the best combo for this lovely neon top is the striped skirt (I need one skirt like that….lol)!!!! And thanks for reminding me that I have to look around for a double belt like that. I could totally relate on your spending too much money adorning yourself….but I’m starting to discipline myself because my closet might cave in anytime!Rebeccawww.redtagchiclosangeles.com

    1. That double belt was a surprise to me as well. And the little scard. I have been using it quite a lot already. And I know exactly what you mean by a closet caving in… I will have to give some clothes away.

Love your sweater and the other purchases you made. Proud of you that you bought so little in the Pauw shop. Because of that we had a fun shoppingday in Zwolle. I found the label SET in the new byDanie guide so it is known in fashioncircles, how about that. The last photo reminds me of the song Blowing in the wind or Sailing, which one do you prefer. You were talking about another combination with your striped skirt and I think this is a good one.

    1. Thank you Marianne… and uhh… no the shopping in Zwolle was definitely not because I had money to burn. That was dipping into saving account.

  18. Yes, I did laugh. Thank you for that and for sharing this gorgeous sweater with us in so many different combinations. I understand the lack of discipline when it comes to clothing. I had a similar experience last week, and bought a blue dress at an estate sale after promising myself austerity. Oh well, it’s fun, isn’t it???

    1. So far, nothing bad has come from it. But some more discipline in this area would be nice. It just happens a bit too often. LOL

  19. Dear Greetje, today I saw your last post, and also this. I spent a few days holiday, without having internet. I loved the black and white pattern of day 23, is lovely too with orange pants. I love the yellow sweater this post and all the combinations you propose. It’s hard to pick one, but I will: I love the skirt, and black stockings. But it is also very beautiful with white skirt and pants. The pictures are beautiful and you look very beautiful.

    1. Oh dear Josep-Maria… sometimes I want to stop blogging because I think all these compliments cannot be good for a person. But then I read your comment and it makes me decide to go on. You are such a sweet man. And I know you are honest. If you don’t like it, you will say so.I hope you had a wonderful holiday.

  20. I had hoped you had to laugh a lot when you saw that last picture. LOL

  21. Hi Greetje, it’s Kathy. I’ve been enjoying your blog and I look at it quite often. I really like your bright sweater styled in all the different ways. You’re right on trend with this vivid colour!

    1. Hello Kathy and welcome. I appreciate you posting a comment. And in this case such a nice one. You can always be honest with me. If you don’t like something please let me know (in a nice way preferably haha). I learn a lot from that.
