A little white dress

(I am off to Paris until Sunday, so I cannot publish your comments. As soon as I am back I will attend to it.)

At 40+Style.com there was a challenge called: wearing a dress over trousers. Although I submitted 2 photos for this challenge, it is not really my thing. The new challenge is going to be: Wearing White.
White on white or white with a fierce bright. (Everybody can send in 2 (or more) photos for the challenge. Deadline is May 25. Details are in this article.)

Now I find white as easy as black and remembered I had a Little White Dress in my wardrobe which I hardly wore. The brand is SportMax and bought in Milan two years ago. Time to see whether I had learned something from my fellow bloggers (should be about time….).

I threw the dress on the bed and added all sort of tops, belts, scarfs and cardigans. And tried one after another, after another, after another. I tell you… blogging and fashion can be hard work LOL.

The hard work was rewarded. I had the same, marvellous result as with my brown sheer skirt (herehere and here). Remember I had nothing to wear with that skirt and ended up with so many fabulous combinations? Well… this white dress offers the same opportunities and I will show you only a two of them in this post (so I have some photos left for another post… saves me another photo shoot haha). I did not even try jewellery.

Above and below: I was so proud of myself for adding a yellow belt with green and white.
Before my blogging days I would never have thought of this.

Below: this is cheating a bit. I would NEVER wear this dress without my arms covered.
The photos are fortunately bad enough so you don’t see how old and wrinkled they are.

The dog is very keen on having her photograph taken.

Above: with white slingbacks
Below: with black peeptoes

Photographic skills are still not up to scratch. Sorry.

Oh yes I have to agree with you 100%….blogging is hard work! Although lately, I’m loosening up a bit & just let myself have fun. You certainly did a good job at styling that white dress. It seems so easy for you….cuz white has never been a staple in my closet. Rebeccawww.redtagchiclosangeles.com

    1. Funny you should say that because styling is never easy for me. With the exception of this white dress. That was a piece of cake.

  2. Love the white dress and both combis are great. Perhaps you should wear them without a coverup. At least on these pictures, it looks smashing!

    1. Yes on these (vague) pictures it looks good. You would suck your breath if you saw my bare arms while I am leaning on a table. All threads and wrinkles brrr.

  3. Loving the dress, the belt, the cardigan and those slingbacks and the fact that the dog wants to be part of the photo, he knows how stylish he is.Blogging is a wonderful thing, it introduce us to new people, styles and it helps improve our style in the process.

  4. A white dress is something I never bore to wear, yours is very nice and looks great on you . The slingbacks are so elegant:you are a real lady!

Enjoy your time in Paris. I just wore my white outfit today and it was funny – I had the hardest time styling it! It was really difficult for me to wear all white – maybe I’ve been wearing too much color 🙂 Your comment about mixing green & yellow totally made me smile. I’ve not tried that combo before and may use this as an inspiration. I really like it with the scarf tied around your neck…it’ very chic!Alicewww.happinessatmidlife.com

    1. I am suddenly into scarfs. Just bought a bunch in Paris. Especially a small cute silk one is constructed in such a clever way.

  7. I love, love it. A beautiful dress, a look superb. You are elegant beautiful and very attractive. I like the dress with the scarf is a beautiful combination. I love your style in this post.

    1. I knew you would like it. Very classic. But modern (I hope) with the little belt or the cardigan.

  8. your dress is so crisp and cleanlove the looksbrett

    1. More looks with this dress are coming soon.

I was right when I said every women should have beside a LBD a LWD too. It is a well fitted dress and you can combine it endlessly. I like this fresh combo with the green and yellow. The black shoes are as nice as the white ones, so in other words there is absolutely nothing wrong. It is almost tedious to comment because you are doing so well.

    1. I agree with tedious… I will publish a few failures soon haha

  10. First off, I can’t believe you hardly wear this amazing LWD, especailly when it fits you to the T. A lot of people tend to look washed out with white, but not you, you look fabulous in this crisp fun, clean color. Love how you paired it white green and yes, the yellow belt was a great choice. Have a wonderful trip to Paris. Wish I could join you.

  11. You look fabulous, Greetje!I love shift dresses in all colours. They are so versatile, combine them with a blazer, a cardigan (lovely in green!) or even a denim jacket for all sorts of occasions. It doesn’t necessarily require a lot of accessories but looks good with a longer necklace too. I wouldn’t wear it with a scarf though.Hope you will have lots of sunny days to wear this gorgeous dress. And have a wonderful time in Paris!AnnetteLady of Stylefollow me on Facebook

  21. Have fun in Paris to start with. Useless to say ‘don’t spend too much money’:) I love both combinations. The small yellow belt works very well and picks up the yellow from the scarf so nicely. The white slingbacks are beautiful. You’ve got to have the nicest shoe collection I have come across. It fascinates me that I notice so many celebs in pictures with shoes that may be fashionable but don’t fit at all (usually too big or wide). Yours always look elegant and smashing and fit. And about the arms, nothing wrong there and the shape of the top of the dress really becomes you.

    1. Funny you should say that. I think I have a rather old fashioned, not very modern taste in shoes. When I got those booties this winter I was very proud of myself. Finally modern shoes. You should check out Teatime with Trins or Respect the shoes. They have a shoe collection!!!! Hoofdeconoom abnamro han de jong 9.08 uur pp radio 1. Hij zou de antwoorden moeten kennen.
