My grey boyfriend jacket styled by The Style Confessions

Grey boyfriend jacket a la Style Confessions 1

As many of you know, this grey boyfriend jacket is a problem for me, because of the colour and the shape.
I have shown you many outfits with this jacket (part 1, part 2 and part 3).

Then Heather Fonseca of The Style Confessions offered everybody to style an outfit and draw sketches of the desired outfit. Of course I jumped at this opportunity and asked her for help. She is such a good artist and drew two lovely outfit possibilities. Have a look at her sketches. And then compare them with reality. Didn’t she do a good job?

Note: I have new shoes and a new belt. Sylvia of 40+Style wears this belt in her black and white post. And she was kind enough to bring me the same belt on her trip to The Netherlands. She did consult me first whether I still wanted it and what I thought of the price before she purchased it for me.
I think it is extremely kind of her to go through all this trouble (she had to go back to the shop 3 times…) and for letting me copy her.

And here is the jacket with the white dress, as suggested and sketched by Heather. Including my yellow Coach bag. Heather did quite some homework before she started drawing haha. Knowing what items I possess.

Both outfits are perfect for this grey blazer! I really like it with the pop of color – it just adds the extra fun factor.

Hahaha why not Greet…..I love the neutral palette, so perfect to get a lot of looks made! I love how you mixed it with jeans with the sleeves hanging out from the blazer….& let’s not talk about the shoes!!!

    1. Both outfits were styled by Heather (The Style Confessions), but indeed I did the sleeves …
The shoes are great but not as easy to style as I thought they would. They can make an outfit look quite old fashioned or very classic.

  3. I LOVE this for so many reasons- first you look amazing in both outfits. I love your fearless exploration of style and the friends from around the world who are part of this outfit. I love that Heather and Sylvia are part of your ensembles. Yay +40 fashion community! This makes me so happy today!

    1. If I made you happy then my mission for today is accomplished. Love to make people happy. You are such a good soul.

  4. Really love these. Your jeans fit you so well.

    1. And these jeans were just some I bought in the sale of an unknown brand (Occupied which is Danish). Cannot find them anymore so I have to make the most of the ones I have. And I am milking the fact they fit and suit me so well haha.

  5. Two nice outfits, thanks to Heather, Sylvia and yourself, dear Greetje;-). Well done!

  6. Fantastic outfits. I bought a yellow bag just like that in Italy recently. Now I know what to wear with it.

    1. Such a bag goes with a lot more things. Type in: yellow bag in my search box and you will see all the outfits I have worn it with. For inspiration.

Fabulous job Greetje! I would never have thought to put it with your white dress, but it looks fantastic, especially with the yellow accents. I do agree with Heather, you are too hard on yourself when it comes to this jacket, you have the perfect body and height to pull it off.

    1. Thank you Trina. I would never have thought to put it with the white dress either. Heather must have looked through my posts, thus assessing my wardrobe. She did a really good job, both in styling and in sketching.

  8. Great look on you – and I really like those black and white pumps!

    1. Yes, a girl like you knows how to appreciate such shoes. LOL

  10. I love it with the white dress and the pop of yellow.
    What else???
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    1. I would have thought you&#039d favour the jeans. Just goes to show I don&#039t know you well enough. Josep-Maria keeps surprising me as well.

  11. Greetje these looks are fantastic! It’s pretty much possible to make anything look good in a sketch, so I’m really pleased that the sketches translated so well into real life. I especially like the white dress, though I love the way the boyfriend jeans turned out too. Yay!!

    1. I know you can make anything look good in a sketch, so I was curious to see what reality would bring me. But as you can see: YOU ARE GOOD.

  12. I wouldn&#039t mind seeing the boyfriend jacket again – it&#039s looks fantastic. I love the pairing with the white dress and those pops of yellow, and with the jeans, both such different looks. How a long road your belt had. Sylvia was great to bring it to you.

    1. Well, I have already spent 3 posts on this jacket and this is the fourth one. That is enough for me haha.

  13. Hello Greetje, I love the way you adapted the jacket ( so well tailored) to both outfits. It is chic and casual with the denim and polished and lovely with the white dress. I also love the coach bag: the color really adds some pop. I am happy to have discovered your blog.

    1. I have not adapted the jacket to the outfits, Heather did. Through blogging I have found a lot of stylists who help me. YEAH.

  14. I love your looks with jeans and jacket are very nice, but the look of the white dress is extraordinary, I love it. It&#039s a beautiful dress, and the belt is great. I like the bag. I try to use in this look the beautiful shoes you&#039re wearing in the first. You look beautiful in this post and I really like the last photo, with your hair in the wind.

    1. Oh how nice… Thank you. It is like winning an award LOL.

  15. yep, don&#039t keep it in your closet, maybe &#039cos I&#039m new to your site but I don&#039t think we &#039should never see the jacket again&#039:)
Hey, where are the jeans from? perfect cut and colour.

both looks are nice, i think the boyfriend jacket even looks better on you than the fitted ones, as Trina says above, you can pull it off!

    1. No, no I really think the fitted ones are better, but with Heather&#039s styling this jacket finally looks good on me.
The jeans are my best pair, by Occupied, a Danish brand. Unfortunately I have never found the same shape anymore. So I treasure these. http://www.occupied-clothing.com/

  16. What&#039s wrong with the colour of your jacket?I find grey so easy to combine! I like it especially with white and other shades of grey . Your jacket goes well with the white dress. I love your green necklace and the black and white slingback shoes.

    1. Grey near my face sort of drains the colour from my face. The green necklace is one of my treasures (Italian design by Angela Caputi). The black and white shoes were too good to resist and also in the sale.

      1. That is the necklace I have heard you talk about in past post! Now I understand why you love it : it can add a special touch to an outfit! And about grey: I have a similar feeling when I wear black. . .

        1. Yes, this is the one. Love this necklace.

  17. Thanks to Sylvia the search is over, mission accomplished. Belt received and I must say the shoes are to die for. You know I am not a fan of this jacket but I must say Heather gave you some good advice because I like both combinations . I think Heather is our new problemshooter now, but Anja is a miracleworker too.

    1. Isn&#039t it lovely to have so many women helping eachother? This is definitely one of the perks of blogging.

  19. So nice that your blogger friends and your “in real person” friends assist you with accessories and style tips.
You always look fantastic with jeans and a blazer and of course the white dress with the grey and the neon yellow touches is quite elegant and sunny.

    1. Yes I am very fortunate to have friends to assist me with styling. As I am not that good at styling… but I get so much help that nobody notices it. LOL
