Blue Kenzo jacket with green and yellow skinnies

Blue Kenzo jacket with yellow skinnies 6It is so springtime in The Netherlands…. 21 degrees Celcius this weekend. Wonderful… but it did present me with a slight problem. All my photoshoots with a cold winter nose and winter outfits were not appropriate (really). And I had little time to prepare a post as I am trying to have a life outside blogging. Which is not easy. Therefore I was delighted to find a series of spring / autum photos waiting for me already prepared for publishing (did them early winter when it was too cold to publish them). My Kenzo jacket with green and yellow skinnies…. so much better than with normal trousers like I wore here. The skinnies make the jacket edgier.

Although I also bought a beautiful yellow/blue/white Kenzo top with this jacket as you see below, a girl needs variation. The top with pink leaves shown in this post is cheap and by Mexx, as are the skinnies. Throw in some good shoes and a well-made jacket and the top looks more expensive. The top photo is my favourite outfit of this post as I love the colour of the shoes. My hair was still blond and long(er) at that time, the photos still in my garden and most pictures still rather blurry (wrong camera settings…) 🙄 . I am going to ask my hairdresser to let my hair grow longer and go back to a more blond colour.

The yellow sandals are perhaps a bit too bright for this outfit but let’s call it ton-sur-ton (tone on tone).Blue Kenzo jacket with yellow skinnies 2Below: I cannot remember whether I was picking weeds or trying to get the cat’s attention.Blue Kenzo jacket with yellow skinnies 3Below: did you know that photographing somebody sitting in a chair, often gives that person very strange legs… big and not in proportion to the body. This is the best photo.Blue Kenzo jacket with yellow skinnies 1As I said at the beginning of this post, I am trying to get my social life back. My more than full time job often gets in the way of my blogging. Twice each month I am thinking of packing it up all together, an emotion most bloggers recognize. Of course I like blogging, I just don’t know why. Anyway… I am still here, hoping to entertain you.

  2. Love your color combinations and the navy with the mint green pants looks so good! Great styling!

    1. The styling started with “yellow in the Kenzo top, so yellow trousers”. As I also had the yellow skinnies in green… and this combination was born. Really more to do with the fact the brand (Mexx) sold the top and the skinnies haha.

  3. Oh I know it’s hard to fit it all in, blogging does take a lot of time. Even posting once a week for me takes energy. Gosh I love this yellow sandal! The colored jeans are great for spring. I’m thinking of green jeans for my next post myself. I like the concept of purchasing some inexpensive items and adding them to designer pieces. I do this too. Magenta pumps are fabulous!

    blue hue wonderland

    1. The magenta pumps are very high though. Not that easy to wear to use an understatement.
The yelllow sandals are still great. Present from husband (again), but you probably know that from earlier posts.

      1. Your husband has some fabulous taste, can he teach mine!!!

        1. No, and not necessary either. You are doing fine on your own. LOL

Both outfits are great and perfect for spring. Hopefully the warm weather will arrive in the Netherlands soon. I am working like a mad woman lately too and I am feeling a bit burned out. Very glad to have vacation coming up to recharge. Thank you always for visiting my blog and don’t worry about not commenting – you know I love you! Real life always comes before blogging 🙂

    1. Glad you like it and yes… real life becomes before blogging. No doubt.

  5. Great colorful outfits Greetje. Love them both! As for blogging, just post when you have time. Doesn’t have to be every week. Just keep having fun with it and don’t let become a burden! Consistency is good, but once a month is consistent too!

    1. I am going to find a new balance. Glad you like my outfits.

  6. The blue jacket is amazing, but I’m absolutely nuts over the yellow shoes. (and yellow is just not my color – next to orange and purple!) but the style of those shoes is absolutely amazing! I’ve always envied blondes (YOU!) and your color palettes you can wear. Even my feet would resist a yellow, but I’m going to envy them on you – so beautiful!
And yes, hope you are enjoying your life outside of blogging. Spring fever is hitting!

    1. The “flap” you see on the shoe, can be removed, which means I actually have two pairs of shoes. Strange that yellow, orange and purple are not your colours. Perhaps you are a winter type (the only ones who can really wear black and white.) and I am no blond, but a brunette. Just had blond streaks in my hair and the sun bleached it too (photo’s were taken last year.
Thanks for the admiration. “I feel good… Tarara…pom” (singing).

      1. I guess I am a “winter”, because I do love blacks, whites and reds on me. But my skin color changes so often… Are those shoes only available locally- I don’t think you shared the brand. With my luck, they don’t make them anymore!
        Keep singing, blondie! 🙂

        1. They were last year’s, so I doubt whether you can still get them. And they were really terribly expensive. I got sale reduction and my husband pad for hem…..
You can find the brand and the shop (also online) where I bought them in this post:

  7. I love both ensembles so much.
the green tropical one is my favourite
The yellow shoes are a dream come true.
Have you tried the yellow shoes with the green outfit? I bet it looks wonderful too.
    Loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    1. Oh.. Good idea Sacramento… I will try that. Why don’t I get such ideas??? Oh well, I have lots of little helpers, like you haha.

  8. I like both jeans on you, they have beautiful, sping colours! I am recently wearing more yellow clothes…Your yellow sandals are among my favourites: they are unique! And the kenzo blouse is perfect with the blue blazer…

I happen to think that blogging takes too much time in my life, and sometimes I wonder if it is right… I haven’t find the answer yet… the fact is that I also love meeting people… I hope you are not thinking of stoping with your blog! ( I couldn’t bear it!!)

    1. I think of stopping twice a month haha. So far I enjoy it too much to stop. But I have to cut down on the commenting on other blogs. Even though I know, we all like the comments of course. As for the yellow sandals…. I should really go back to that shop in Antwerp. It was great.

    1. This is fun… you abbreviated my name to Greet, which is totally correct in Dutch. As the “je” behind my name is to diminutive the name. Did you do this by accident? Or did you know?

Wow really? Nope I didn’t know….I just like the sound better haha. By the way, can you tell me how to pronounce Greetje?

        1. Like “great” but the “g” is like a throat sound, low and hard. We always say that Dutch sounds like a throat disease haha.

  10. Absolute movie star! I’m sure you were calling the cat. The movie star has her staff to pick the weeds. Ha! I understand your need for the break, yes. But I can enjoy the views here while I can.

    1. I will still continue to publish posts… but you won’t always have time to visit either. We will see.

  11. Love the blue, green and fuchsia in the first picture and also the yellow sandals and the geometric top in the later pictures -How cool

    1. Ahhh, you are so sweet!! Thank you very much. It is because of such readers like you that I like to continue.
I have often questioned my motives for blogging. Like: am I a narcisst? Do I need the applause? I don’t think so. Yes, bloggers don’t mind a bit of attention, at least I don’t, being an extrovert. But I am very aware of the fact that most people won’t give me bad comments, even though I ask them to be honest. So I don’t think I am the best dressed person in the world hahaha. Anyway… I will continue.

  12. You look Great and I love the yellow combo on you. That jacket is a must have. Looking forward to more . .
    http://mykurves.blogspot.com

    1. The jacket was a present from my husband when I went to Paris. He said “go mad and buy something nice”. Of course when you are allowed you cannot find anything. Just in the last minute before I left to go home, I found this jacket. Beautiful quality.

  13. Navy is one of those colors that I admire from afar. I have no idea why I don’t wear it much….

Your first look reminds me of Natalia’s outfit. Do you know Natalia. She wore a very colorful look with magenta shoes as well. Very cheerful and bold and a lovely spring ensemble.

By the way, can I have the yellow shoes 🙂

    1. Hahaha, no you cannot have the yellow shoes. For one I am not done with them and secondly, they are a present and it is bad luck to pass on presents. (I know you are not serious LOL.)
And I don’t know Natalia, but your description sounds lovely.

  14. I love both of these ensembles but esp the yellow combo! You look wonderful!

    1. Thank you very much for your nice comments. Always nice to hear a new voice.

  15. Indeed, if I know how to elongate either legs or days, I will let you know. LOL
The yellow sandals are less of a challenge to style when I remove the flap at the top of the shoes. Because you can remove them and turn them in normal sandals. Normal as in “demanding less attention”.

  16. Both outfits are so fitting for transitioning into Spring. I totally agree with you, the first combination is my favorite, love those shoes. I also like your hair a bit longer now that you mentioned it, or rather brought it to our attention. I’m still thinking about grabbing those yellow shoes right off your feet. I think they look fine with the outfit, although I love Sacramento’s idea. And I would also try the blue shoes with your yellow outfit. Ok, so, how many pair of skinny jeans do you own? Well, I guess if I looked as good as you do in them I would own a pair in every color as well.
I also understand your issues with blogging and the time but surely don’t give it up, it wouldn’t be the same without you around.

  17. Thank you for your sweet words. And yes I have a lot of skinnies. Emphasizing my best feature. I think I might even be overdoing it. LOL

  18. That’s just not right, Maxima deserves her day:):)

    1. Hahaha, no it was always Beatrix day.

  19. Such beautiful springtime colors on you. I love those mint green jeans and the yellow sandals – you look great!

    1. Thank you Lisa. I don’t know why I always have to approve comments coming from you. I have set the system to automatically approve comments from somebody who has been approved by me before. I will ask my IT guy. Sorry about that.

  20. hey greetje,
how was ‘koninginnedag’? curious about that post too
what I meant is I would like to see how you ‘rock’ real Dutch designers? You must own clothes by Dutch designers….I always love your posts where you speak about Holland? Cheers from Antwerp!

    1. Fun question Barabara… you have commented on my Kingsday post full of orange. That was it this year. There is no “Koninginnedag” anymore. We have a king now and celebrate that on the 27th of April. Lots of tourists who came to Holland especially for Koninginnedag on April 30, were disappointed this year as the party was already over.
As for Dutch designers, yes I own a few things by Spijkers&Spijkers, and boots by Jan Jansen. But those things are all over my blog. You can search for “eye blouse” or Jan Jansen. Here is a link to a post about trousers from Spijkers & Spijkers, female twin sisters from Arnhem:

    1. The cobbler took 7 mm (0.275 inch) off of the heel. That is usually possible with a high heel, but these were a bit shifting towards the toe which meant it felt like I was falling backwards when they were lower. I wasn’t but it did not feel safe.
The cobbler than took a piece of heel with a big pin and elongated the heel again. Stripped the fuchsia suede off the inside of the heel to make the joint invisible on the outside of the heel. And repaired the stripped bit with plain leather. If you didn’t know, you would not notice. I do have a cobbler who is European champion in his trade!!

  22. Greetje,
I love the first looks best, because of the pink shoes! The whole combo with that gorgeous kenzo top, is perfect for a spring day! I also love your movie start look! Glad you like all the combinaions.

  23. Looking great in every look!!!
Glad you’re having spring time 🙂

    1. Hi Nanda, I missed this comment. No idea how or why.
Yes, we are having a pretty good spring here in The Netherlands. Presumably to make up for last year. LOL

  24. LOL I had to laugh at what you wrote about blogging. You like it, you just don’t know why, and the fact that you think about packing it up every two weeks. I am definately there with you.

Think of how much more we would accomplish in our lives if we weren’t blogging! Then again I never would have “met” you or any of the other lovely ladies I’m come to think of as my online gal pals. Like everything in life it requires time. If you figure out what the magic is to make our days last longer let me know.

You in these green jeans are making me think I need to get mine out of storage. Mind you, it needs to be warmer than 10 C for that to happen. So far…not happening here.

21! How glorious! Also…I will never look as brilliant as you with mile long legs…sigh. C’est la vie.

I adore those yellow shoes but can see they would be a bit challenging to style. They do look like the exact same colour as what is in the blouse. That is a win win.

    bisous
    Suzanne

  25. So happy your spring has arrived! Your first outfit is, of course, a winner … slight preference for the brighter shoe, but elegant both ways. But I’m completely knocked out by the second. I guess it’s the cut and patten and colors of that very cool blouse, but I have to say I just LOVE that you coordinated it so well with just the right pieces. I don’t think the sandals are a bit too bright … here they read as an almost perfect match with the yellow in the print. Very, very out of the ordinary, and just another reason I love to pop by your blog to be so happily cheered by your excellent taste and style.
Always, always love your kitty bombs. Sophie is colored so much like my fatter kitty, Vivi.)

    1. You funny Jan…. “my excellent taste and style”, haha. Thank you hahaha. (Sorry, but knowing how difficult styling is for me, it always makes me laugh when somebody says things like this.)
When I styled it first time (with normal jeans) I thought it looked a bit dowdy. With the skinnies it becomes more modern. And the jacket is wide, so underneath that we need something tight (this is what I have learned). I would not mind better quality skinnies though. Thanks for stopping by. (They should really invent how to work teletransporting in reality, so I can have coffee with you.)

  26. Hey, not sure how I missed this post! These are colours that sing! Of course, you knew I would love them, didn’t you? That and saying hello kitty! I laughed when you said you liked to blog but don’t know why. I’m the same way. I think it has a lot to do with connecting with like minded people like you!

    1. And I don’t know how I mised your comment. Is is now May 2!! Oh well better late than never.
After I made my Kingsday post (April 26), I realized I do like the whole process too. The photographing, choosing the right pictures, making the story. It has to be a hobby, otherwise I wouldn’t enjoy it so much.
Glad you liked this Kenzo outfit.

So I don’t think I am the best dressed person in the world hahaha. Anyway… I will continue.

  45. I love both of these ensembles but esp the yellow combo! You look wonderful!

    1. Thank you very much for your nice comments. Always nice to hear a new voice.

This is the link to their online part… mouth watering:

Oh yeah I can totally relate Greet….also with a full time job, teenagers, life can be so crazy busy. Just take it all in and smile in the process. Happy to see that you got in stock these Spring looks….love the colors you put together!

LOL

  49. You look Great and I love the yellow combo on you. That jacket is a must have. Looking forward to more . .

    1. The jacket was a present from my husband when I went to Paris. He said “go mad and buy something nice”. Of course when you are allowed you cannot find anything. Just in the last minute before I left to go home, I found this jacket. Beautiful quality.

  50. Absolute movie star! I’m sure you were calling the cat. The movie star has her staff to pick the weeds. Ha! I understand your need for the break, yes. But I can enjoy the views here while I can.

    1. I will still continue to publish posts… but you won’t always have time to visit either. We will see.

No doubt.
