Multi colour Ralph Lauren shirt from Geneva

multi colour Ralph Lauren shirt

multi colour Ralph Lauren shirtOK…. the post about Geneva….As you can see in above picture, it was glorious weather. The shirt I am wearing is bought in Geneva. Because as I arrived I lost my belt. The belt matching the shirt I was wearing. Which meant the whole outfit really looked off. Is that a reason for buying another shirt? Hmmm… no, of course not, but Pat wanted to look at something in a big beautiful department store. I passed a mannequin wearing this multi colour Ralph Lauren shirt and stopped dead in my tracks. Loved it. Tried it on and it fit!! It wasn’t even gapping. It is really soft and breezy, covers my arms.. perfect in my book.

Below: this is what my outfit looked like without the matching belt.. I had to put on another belt otherwise the shirt looked too big. The belt totally clashed with the necklace. OK, the pose, the stupid grin and the flat ballerinas didn’t help either. I could have taken off my necklace but didn’t think of that at the time.purple silk shirt

The next day we went over to Debra, a friend of Pat. Whenever I am over to see Pat, we usually meet up with Debra.

  1. I love the shirt. The colours are so Summery, and I bet it’s really versatile and will go with a lot. Perfect town wear in the summer. Thanks for the lovely photos of Geneva too. I fear you will have problems with the sandals, unless you can find a way of stopping that back panel from moving up and down as you walk. I’d just go for a padded plaster. Enjoy the sunshine! 🙂

    1. You are right Trish, a padded plaster (Compeed) is the first thing I will try. They will get better I suppose as time passes. I have such ridiculously sensitive feet. In summer I have to add.

  2. Greetje,
I l adore your purple blouse and belt, but I am glad the belt got lost. sorry, now you get this amazing shirt to wear ( reminds me of Etro ), and the purple blouse can be paired with another belt, that I bet you own!
Perfect with the skinnies and I love the bag.
Great photos of the clocks and street musicians, I love that those shots give some perspective as to where you are.

You look stunning, as per always, in those skinnies, and this is such an interesting post. I feel as though I am there, wishful thinking, I know..

    1. Apparently making you feel as if you were there is my signature. As I hear it a lot and it pleases me endlesly. Thank you very much for your compliments.

  3. Geneva looks like a beautiful place – I have never been to Switzerland or Holland, so I enjoy your travelogue posts! I can see why you were drawn to that shirt, the colours are lovely. The store was very smart to give the discount for shoes (or they must have known you were looking for new ones) when you bought the shirt.

  4. Only you my friend would stop and buy an new shirt, but I love it! What a fantastic blouse you ended up with! And the trip looked beautiful, thanks for sharing it with us.

    1. Those shoes are turning out to be a hit!! I am combining them with lots of outfits and they always bring the outfit to a higher level. I am quite happy with my “aberration” haha.
      (Is aberration the right word?)

  5. Greet I love your white summer shoes so much and also that lovely printed top – so perfect for Summer!

Come check out how I wore ruffles for work & play at the blog – Happy Thursday!

  6. Although I am a little sad, glad my late this look, it’s beautiful. My dear Greetje, with its beautiful and funny shirt, with pants that have always stood out as fit your beautiful figure, and her smile …

    1. Thank you. I am so pleased you like it. I very much appreciate your visit and compliments.

  7. Geneva looks lovely – perfect for walking about looking fabulous. As you do in your new RL shirt and white sandals (on sale!). Wonderful choices, xo

    1. Thanks Patti. Geneva is lovely although it is a bit too “stiff” for my taste. I prefer New York. But as my friend lives there…

  8. I absolutely love your brightly colored shirt. And as usual, you rock the skinnies.

This post is a combination of style and travel, with great photos of both. A wonderful combination. You give me a window into a world that I’ve never seen, but would love to.

    1. You have been in Europe. You know we have pretty towns.

  9. A 10%off is something you couldn’t miss! And those sandals are so pretty…probably they will get softer with use. is not easy to find a pair of comfortable sandals…

Needless to say that the shirt is gorgeous! It’s beautiful on you ! What a pity you lost the belt of your blue blouse…why don’t you try a silk scarf?
    i

    1. Hahaha, yes indeed a 10% off I couldn’t miss.
The blouse of which I lost the belt is purple (funny colours you have on your iPad). It doesn’t matter whether I use a silk scarf or a belt. If it is different from the blouse, it will break the blouse in two and I wanted it to be one column of a solid colour. Perhaps I should have it taking in…

  10. What a pretty shirt. Its bright colors remind me of a shirt I got from Anne (Spygirl). And thanks for the great pictures of European cities. You often make me want to fly across the Atlantic!

    1. I bet you would love Europe Ally. I can recommend Rome, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona…. so many beautiful cities.

  11. What a fabulous new purchase this shirt is, and all of those colours mean it will go with absolutely everything. Your summer shoes are a great find too. Geneva looks beautiful. You have so many friends and always seem to jetset about to glamorous places Greetje – lucky you x

    1. I know you say that because it is far more difficult for you, you island girl. But I really have never gone to many places before. Blogging makes me go to different places, but I am not really a traveller. Quite the opposite. And of course if Pat starts living so far away I have to maintain our friendship. Geneva is very doable. If she were to live in the USA this would not be possible.

  12. Great post, love your new shirt and shoes, shame about the blisters

    1. Perhaps after the shoes are broken in, they will get better. Do you know of an inventor who can invent a lotion to rub on my feet in the morning to prevent blisters? If so, tell him or her to hurry up.

  13. Great outfit. Of course, I had to pin the one with the cat. Such a cute photo bomb

    1. This was a very sweet, very hairy cat. Lovable.

  14. What a fabulous trip, Greeje (of course any trip that includes shopping is my idea of great!!).
This new shirt is so colorful—it grabbed my attention right away! It is springtime in a clothing item!!
And the store is very smart about marketing—of course, you had to use the promotion. I was actually looking for white sandals just two days ago but was not as successful (I didn’t say I didn’t come home with some new shoes, just not white ones!!)
I have a theory after reading your blog for about a year—-I know why you are so thin! You don’t really eat—there you are at a cafe with only coffee!! If it was my friends and I, we’d have some desserts and drinks between us!!

    1. Hahaha…. you are right, I am trying not to have cakes with my cappuccino. Mind you, in my office there is cake EVERY SINGLE DAY. There is always something to celebrate and we have about 100 people on our floor. So temptation is everywhere. Somehow you also seem to manage fine with your figure. But you can have the cake AND stay slim. Mind you, you are a lot younger than I am. Had to grin when I read “shopping is my idea of great”. I thought the sandals were very modern, not too high, good with trousers and comfortable. But they are giving me blisters and I was so hoping these wouldn’t. Hopeless in summer. Always blisters. Perhaps when I have worn them a while, it will not happen anymore.
Glad you got home with some new shoes haha.

  15. Such a shame about the shoes giving you blisters. Seems like the cutest ones always do.

I like the new shirt too.

Looks like a very pleasant trip with great friends and great weather.

    1. Perhaps when the shoes are broken in I will not any blisters anymore. We will see. I have very sensitive feet. The trip was lovely as always. When I am meeting friends I am happy.

  16. Looks like a fabulous time! That shirt is gorgeous, and you look gorgeous in it. The shoes are great too.

    1. I did very well there in Geneva. Didn’t intend to and financially it was not wise (at all) but you know reason goes out the window as soon as love enters.

  17. Great shirt, shame about the shoes. My shopping policy dictates that I buy every piece of clothing that I love immediately when I see it (it actually doesn’t happen very often, finding clothes that I love, I mean) because if I don’t, I will probably regret it because it will sell out the minute I leave the store. So, good work.

    1. Problem with me is that I often (nearly always) go for clothes which attract attention (not only mine). So I end up with a closet full of loud clothes which can’t be combined as they are all competing for attention.
I hope the shoes will het better.

  18. I really enjoyed the post…thanks for taking us to all those places. And I love the shoes!

    1. Thanks Pam. As soon as I saw them I knew they would fill the “void” in my wardrobe.

  19. That shirt and those shoes…LOVE! Sorry to hear they are giving you blisters. 🙁

    1. I am breaking in the shoes gently, hoping they will get better. My feet are nusually sensitive in summer. I hate that but have to live with it. Would be nice if I could rub them with some lotion in the morning to prevent the blisters. Why hasn’t that been invented het?
