There it is, my Isabel Marant necklace, present from Ron when we were in Maastricht. It is such an unusual thing. The cream leather strings can move up and down and by doing so, the golden part in the middle will sit lower or higher on your body. I fell in love with it. As the jeweller (Clio) gave details about the necklace, in my mind I could see the price going up and up. Turned out it was affordable. I was ready to purchase when Ron beat me to it.
I wore the necklace on a little coffee expedition with Anke and Sabine on a Sunday in Amsterdam. We knew it would be the last time we could meet before Anke’s baby would arrive.
Below: Meeting Sabine at the coffee place. She is a natural poser. Love her sun glasses. And her new furry coat.
Below: Sabine took some outfit photos for my blog before Anke arrived.
Below: This fuchsia is the way I like it: bright as the devil. Great background for the necklace.
Below: And enter… Anke
Below: The first thing we do is look at her baby belly. “Look at you, you are gorgeous!” Just a few more weeks to go.
Below: Anke is very relaxed. Although only two weeks to go, she came to meet us on her bike.
Below: Sabine. A mischievous woman haha.
Below: The boots Sabine was wearing.
Below: Anke uses her common sense and still wears sneakers.
Below: I was wearing a top by Essentiel, jeans by Denham, boots by EIJK. And the Isabel Marant necklace of course. We were having lovely coffee and tea.
Below: Close-up of the necklace. Cream leather and golden ornaments.
Below: For lunch we needed to move. On our way to the lunch place, Sabine discovered this bike hanging on its side on the bride. She did a “tower of Pisa” picture, pretending to hold it up with her vinger.
Below: I was wearing my long blue coat. I find it a tad boring, but it is very useful. It looks better unfastened and without a scarf but that is so cold.
During lunch Anke’s friends sent her a message by accident, totally ruining a surprise baby shower haha. So Anke went home and had such a lovely party (she told us afterwards).
Below: Sabine and I went on doing what we do best: shopping. This skirt didn’t make it.
Below: A street in Amsterdam. For the ambience.
Below: Nice building. I’d say art deco.
Below: Shoes had our special attention. Sabine was smitten by these sneakers. I don’t like sneakers like this. Call me old-fashioned.
Below: This was more my taste. The price wasn’t.
Below: Hey…??? Hudson’s Bay has a store, a big store, in Amsterdam as well. Here we are on their… shoe department.
Below: Those boots were worth trying as I wanted elegant boots with a sturdy heel, not too high, not too low, to wear with my new wide trousers. I have hesitated a long time over EIJK boots (these) but decided to try the ones at The Bay first.
Below: Hmm… are these the ones I am looking for? Front view…
Below: Side view. Looks nice and tough underneath jeans. Not my initial goal, but it makes the deal even better.
Below: Close-up. They have two rows of black buttons at the back. The darlings came home with me. (So sorry Jolanda of EIJK shoes.)
Below: After trying some lipstick downstairs, Sabine and I went home.
UPDATE / NEWSFLASH:
Anke gave birth to a beautiful daughter. They are both fine.
