Joline Jolink is a Dutch designer. Every new garment she designs, like these wide khaki trousers, has to be versatile. You should be able to combine it with a lot of her other pieces, old and new. That way she creates a sustainable wardrobe for her customers, one you can use for a longer time than just one (fashion) season. In case you missed the first link, her website is www.jolinejolink.com. Dutch readers should really take a peek.Â
When a new piece of clothing joins the rest of your wardrobe, it is a good idea to see with what you can combine it. I am quite the opposite. There has been a time when I only wore an outfit the way I bought it. Getting better though. And after I saw the various combinations on the site of Joline Jolink, I had a go at it myself. And came up with so many outfits!! You will see these trousers (and the top) many times.
I was drawn to these khaki trousers because I thougth they were quirky (I like quirky) and they look especially cute with sneakers. As sneakers and flat shoes will probably be a must for a while, I told myself it was a good investment. Besides, a bit of online shopping consoled me. The top (blue stripe, not black) is from the same designer.
Ron took me to a lovely little village called Spaarndam which has a little harbour with easy access for a car.
Below: One of the little marinas of Spaarndam. Honestly, it was a sunny day. Only when I took this picture it turned grey. Just my luck.
Below: I arrived wearing my python coat which isnât the best choice but it was a little chilly and I couldnât think of another coat. These wide trousers clearly need another model coat. Husband Ron says I look like a little gnome in this picture haha. Famous Dutch directness.
Below: Ahh⊠a cat. Always nice. Cannot see a cat without wanting to stroke it. Arenât we nicely colour-coordinated?
Below: We started taking pictures in front of these houses. Typically Dutch.
Below: Wearing the earrings I got from Nicolene (Stylecuratrix). See this post.
Below: Just a few meters further was a house with a very pretty front door.
Below: Gee, that sun started shining⊠better take off my jacket.
Below: The blue and white striped top is also Joline Jolink.
Below: Close-up of the vintage bag. You have seen this one before but not many times. What do you think? Is it a nice combination with the rest?
Below: Oh and this is the back of the trousers. Although I have no hips and no bum, I still think these trousers suit me. At least I do not cringe when I see this photo, which is a good sign as I am my own worst critic. But feel free to disagree with me.
Below: I sat down in front of the local hair dresser, looking out on the marina, giving the knee a little rest. No customers on a Sunday. See the reflection of the boats in the window?
Below: Oh dear ⊠wind⊠stupid hair⊠trying to create the illusion of a full head of hair haha. All the photos you see, are scrutinized to see if the hair looks good. Pfff, what a waist of time, right? Who cares? Who sees it? I am the only one who is always fussing over it.
Below: Buckling up the bag.
Below: What did I see on the other side of the water? A restaurant with a man in the door way.
Below: I asked him whether he would mind having his picture taken with me and being featured on the blog.
Below: Nope, he didnât mind. What sort of blog do I have? I gave him my card and he thought it was cool. Of course he is not in my target group.
Below: Spaarndam is a lovely old village with lots of historic buildings and pretty old bridges like this.
Below: Posing in the wind.
Not too much variation in outfit pictures, but lots to see otherwise. Hope this post was more entertaining than last weekâs.
