Last year I bought this flower skirt, red jumper and white blouse at Max Mara. Perfect brand. Pricy but you get well-fitting clothes.
Red is my perfect colour and the shape of the skirt is flattering for me as it gives me a waist.
Finally used my new small black belt as well.
I used to only wear it the way I bought it due to lack of fantasy. And I wore it with a black beaded necklace.
Anja thought the necklace made it look too old fashioned. I remember this brooch (put on a string) and she asked me to wear just a black top underneath the jumper. (Not wearing a top underneath it would get me arrested.)
When you see the last photo you will see the wrinkles in my neck again….pfff. I so much want to photoshop it… I don’t but it is soooo ugly. For those readers who are a lot younger than I am: …this does not necessarily happen to you too when you get older. A lot depends on your genes.
I just have to accept it.
Now look at these photos below. You’d think that my posture is quite reasonable. But it is not. See the difference between left and right.
It is so difficult to improve your posture. You cannot remember to stand straight the whole day. Such a pity as it changes your looks SO MUCH.
Which combination do you prefer? With the white blouse? Or with the black top?
Greetje
You’re so sweet to tell us “youngsters” (42 years young here) that not everybody wrinkles the same way. I mean, just to spare a thought on younger people to not worry about aging is a very kind thing.
I definitely vote for the second combination with the beautiful necklace, takes 10 years of your wrinkles uh age:) Greetje, it would be strange if you were without wrinkles at your age. You just laugh too much. Your red boots are probably too much here? And how about white or creme t-shirt and one of your white boots? NB: went looking for wedding shoes with friend at Max Mara. They had the perfect ones but when they told us they were EUR 770 we had to tell the lady that helped us we weren’t sure about the color after all.
Woops, that is expensive. Rest assured the skirt, blouse and jumper were not that expensive. And I know I should not complain about my wrinkles at my age….. but I do not laugh with my neck. LOLPS my white boots are for summer, they are cold and this is a winter outfit.
I agree with Heather, I definitely prefer it with the white blouse underneath! But I guess it would work just as well with a white tank top or cami. I think it can be a problem when you buy a whole outfit to find alternative ways to wear the items other ways. However I think the red sweater will look great with dark blue jeans and brown boots, and I can picture the skirt with a grey sweater (perhaps also with the white blouse underneath) and a pink or fuchsia scarf:)
Pink or fuchsia… never thought of that. Interesting. I have a fuchsia scarf….
I like both looks. Nice and colourful! Nice necklace too.
And the necklace is so simple.
I like it with the white blouse, Greetje and agree it is fresh and bright. It’s difficult to wear a skirt this length and you have managed it beautifully. Love it.
This length needs boots in my opinion. Very difficult with shoes unless they are ridiculously high. Thanks for the kind words.
Very nice classic look, I prefer the second look. Think yourself fortunate you only have to worry about the wrinkles on you neck!I know how expensive Max Mara can be. Bought a beautuful black crepe blazer yesterday fron the charity shop where I work, and with “staff discount” it cost me 10 euros! Xx Patski
Yes I do think I am fortunate only having to worry about my wrinkles in my neck (and chest and arms haha).Gosh that charity shop of yours proves to be a goldmine. Never give that position up.
I like the second combination, I think in wintertime a white blouse near to your face is so pale. And I like what you did with your broche. Very good purchase your little black belt. These a-model skirts are the perfect fit for your body, they give you a real waist and feminine forms. About your wrinkles in your neck, I am jealous I give anything to have yours instead of mine. In my case it’s not only genes but a lot of sunshine as well. guilty as charged.
I am also guilty of sunbathing too much, so that is a big cause of it. But my genes are guilty as well.
So nice to visit your blog, and find this wonderful splash of colour and inspiration. Have a lovely SundayXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Héé Sacramento Amante… how lovely to “see” you. You were the first person unknown to me, to ever respond to my blog before I really started. You, Katty, Josep-Maria, Terry and of course Sylvia, were the people that made me decide to start blogging. Hope you will visit more often.
Today we have another Greetje, more classic and conservative, especially in the first two photos. The other two are more casual and informal, but equally elegant. I love the skirt and red combination. Personally, I like the first option. I’m a classic …
Yes I have a lot of sides to my caracter. Classic is one of them. Thank you for the compliments.
I like the sweater both ways, but the white blouse looks fresh and really lights up your face. The whole outfit is very pretty. I like it!
Thanks Heather. I don’t get much wear out of though. I have not been able to wear the items with different things. Need Anja again.

And it is true. I know enough women older than me, who do not have any wrinkles. One of my best friends does not even have a grey hair and she is only half a year younger than I am.
I like both outfits – the first is more classic and the second more modern. The skirt is lovely and I agree that full skirts look best with boots – but I think everything looks best with boots so take that with a grain of salt. LOL! Thank you for the reminder about posture. You really can see the difference it makes in those two pictures. USA Suzanne
I wish I could walk and sit straight the whole time. Would be such a difference.
