The photos in this post are from two photo shoots, one with Marjolein when it was a wet day with drizzle and one with husband Ron on a sunny day. Also, the outfit with the blue cardigan and black wide leg jeans is slightly different.
With Marjolein’s shoot I was wearing a big neon yellow shirt underneath the cardigan, blue boots and long blue earrings. With Ron’s shoot I wore a white shirt, silver ankle boots and yellow bracelets/earrings. You may decide for yourself which styling you like best.
Below: Let’s start with this photo by Marjolein (recognisable by the blue boots). She suggested I’d fill the alley as a sort of a cross. Creative.
The brown leather jacket is by Second Female and I bought it with Anke and Sabine in Alkmaar in a lovely clothes store called TwentyoneWood. If you are ever in Alkmaar, do visit this shop. They have really good stuff. The black wide leg jeans, the blue cardigan and the neon yellow shirt are also from this shop.
I totally fell in love with the leather jacket; never had such an item. And I am glad I went for the large size and not the medium; medium would have been too short, although that was the intention of the designer. You can pull the strings at the bottom to make it into a bomber jacket or just leave it wide.

Below: The back of the jacket.

Below: I will alternate showing you the outfits (with blue boots and neon yellow shirt as below; or with a white shirt and silver boots).

The yellow shirt has an advantage over the white shirt as the neck is higher which hides the fact that the neck of the blue cardigan is drooping a bit.

Below: Now it is Marjolein’s turn. She was wearing a colour blocking outfit.

Below: The back of her jumper.

Below: Her boots with green and purple accents. A reader mentioned the other day that Marjolein has such a great collection of boots. She has indeed.

Below: And another fun pin. We both love cats.

Below: Before we photographed some nice buildings for you, we had coffee. Of course. I added a pastel de nata cake.

Below: The front of this shop in Haarlem, selling prints, is completely covered with prints of all sorts of things.

Below: Close-up.

Below: Stepped gable houses, with shops at the ground floor. It clearly was a wet day.

Below: Another old architectural beauty for you.

Below: Ron photographed me in front of the old meat hall (which has been featured so many times on the blog).

Below: One of the many ornaments of the old meat hall. With little stakes to prevent birds sitting on it and shitting all over the ornaments.

Below: Another photo by Ron, taken through a window while I was peeping into the jewellery shop through another window. Together with the reflection of the houses, it makes for a nice composition.

What happened in my life this week
After some more rainy days (I was so fed up with them), the sun finally came out after the weekend. Lucky for me, our neighbours are still often taking dog Watson out for 1 walk a day, which allows me to dress reasonably nice for most of the day. By the end of the afternoon, I will change into ‘doggie clothes’ and take Watson to the park for his second walk.
Below: Waiting for my neighbour to arrive and take Watson to the park. He wanted to be on my lap. He is not allowed on the sofa but he can occasionally sit on my lap. Of course, he is too big for my lap, so part of his body is on the sofa but he doesn’t know this.

Below: I wore this on Saturday. If you want to see a sharper photo, click through to the original post where I called the jeans “man repeller jeans”. And yes, I lost weight with all this dog walking and so many more chores. I will put it back on once Ron is able to do his bit again.

Monday was another beach day for Watson and Ron came with us. We all enjoyed the sun so much. No rain…heaven.
The next day, we sat in the sun again, this time on a terrace near a canal (see below).

Ron’s cast is off and his wrist has healed well. But as it is stiff, it hurts when he moves it. It will get better once it is more supple again. And he has a brace for when he uses the arm a lot. All paid by the hospital/health insurance. Such good health system in the Netherlands. The surgeon said the wrist will take about 4 months to be back to its normal good use. I nearly fainted. FOUR more months with all these extra chores? I am already so tired. Of course, it will not be that bad for the whole four months, but I do think it will take at least 4 weeks before he can drive again and take the dog for walks. I am soooo happy with my neighbours, taking him for one walk a day, usually 5 days a week. The days they cannot do that are exhausting.
Below: Mind you, these sunny days and so much more light at the beginning and end of the day, make the chore of dog walking a lot nicer. I now listen to a podcast while Watson is amusing himself.

Thursday we couldn’t go to the granddaughters because their mum and dad were having a really bad cold/the flu. Nevertheless, it turned out to be a happy day for me. Ron had his shower without any help from me. I didn’t expect that as his arm still hurts. It wasn’t a big effort to help him with showering, but the fact he can now do things himself again, gave me a hopeful feeling.
(I do whine a lot about helping poor Ron, don’t I? Sorry dear readers.)
Forwards, to sunny days, like the one below. Photos taken at the beach. The reality photos.
