Orange Max Mara combination

My husband and I were walking into a department store where they displayed this combination on a mannequin.
Husband: “I think that is really nice”.
Me: “I totally agree”.
Husband: “OK, then I’ll buy it for you”.
Me: “Oh, don’t be silly. That is really nice of you, but there is no need. So no thank you”.

We turned a corner and I thought to myself: “Why did I say that? Why? I really like it, I have no money at the moment. He likes buying me presents…. why would I stop him?”
So I turned around and said: “On second thoughts, yes please.”

And my husband is a very generous man, so I got this lovely combination. It is really for spring or fall as the trousers are a sort of in-between-material. The sweater is quite warm. Strange.

Again, it does not look too good at the back. Really broad shoulders, hardly any bum. Luckily the dog is in the picture, attracting attention.

I really had to laugh terribly loud over a joke                             Our beloved dog Charlie (she is a girl).
my nextdoor neighboor made over the fence.                             Breed: Korthals Griffon.

Ciao.

My red cowboy boots

I adore these red cowboy boots. My husband bought them for me. Really to go with a lime yellow dress he also bought me, but that is another story.

This weekend I was photographing outfits like crazy as you never know in Holland when the light will disappear again. So I was in and out of the house in between showers. (It rained a lot.) Also in and out of clothes, and when I came into the living room half dressed, half naked, my husband stuck his thumb up and said:”Great hobby”. LOL

These photos however were made a while ago, when I just came home from the office. No time to do my hair (…. bad mistake..)

Hope you like this outfit as well. The top is by Sarah Pacini, the bag by VOI, the boots by Sendra.
The pendant is a Victorian wax stamp. Also a present from my husband. He is very good to me.

Till tomorrow. (I have to find a better and more original way of ending my articles.)

Lemon green jacket and D&G suit.. the sequel

To show you that I take you seriously, I have tried a couple of the things you advised me:

  1. paired my lemon green jacket with jeans
  2. pinned up the skirt of my D&G suit (you can see the pins in the photos.. hihi)
  3. tried my D&G suit with more colour at the top

The lemon green jacket with the jeans is no problem. I really like it. These jeans were inexpensive and from an unknown brand but they are even better than my 7For all mankind. Which is why I photographed my bum   so conspicuously.
I have also paired this jacket with my little black dress, which you will see another time.

I am not so sure about taking up the skirt, though. I think it makes the suit more ordinairy. The longer skirt gave it something special in my opinion. Or am I the only one who thinks this?

Colour at the top of the black suit is not simple as the buckle doesn’t sit in the middle Which makes a longer necklace a bit awkward. A short necklace will hardly be seen due to the lapels. Perhaps a simple short gold (= shiny) necklace? But will that match the new “buckle” of rhinestones?
The scarfs in the photos are not something I would wear. I think it makes me look old (-fashioned).
Darned, why did I lose that buckle (it was black)……

Well dears, have a go at it. I am anxious to hear your comments.

Sleep well or have a nice day.

Red sweater, cute belt, black trousers

This red sweater plus belt was a find in a lovely shop in Amsterdam, called Young Designers United (YDU).
As you can read on their website they are a shop where the collections of young and upcoming fashion designers are sold for affordable prizes. You get unique pieces at a really nice price.

Of course, like all fashion designers, they aim at the young and lovely. And I might convince myself I am the latter, but I certainly am not young. Still, I have found at least 5 pieces there which I wear regularly without thinking I am dressed too young. One of the pieces is a necklace and you cannot go wrong there haha.

The trousers are by La Dress  La Dress . Funny.. dress, trousers. They sell mainly dresses all over the world and they are very good. These trousers are called “Paris” (€ 76). Unfortunately they are not on their website anymore.

Let the photos do the rest of the talking.

The belt can be fastened at any width as it closes with press-studs all the way round. Drawback is that it is always skew.

I bought this bracelet in Milan, two years ago and do not wear it much. Usually there is already so much going on as in necklace or print or design that the bracelet becomes too much. With this sweater I think it is just right.

Till tomorrow.

Black D & G suit with yellow bag

A ladylike outfit today. A black D & G suit. It used to have a normal buckle, but I lost that somewhere.
Dry cleaners perhaps? Or just in the street? You would expect more quality from a brand like this.
Never mind. I put a rhinestone brooch in its place and added some more brooches. Three in the first photo and 2 in the second.
Perhaps I should have worn 4 brooches plus the buckle brooch.

The skirt was taken in by a guy in the D & G shop who had absolutely no idea of tailoring. Why do they put such bad staff in such expensive stores? The two 18-year old shop assistants looked at me when I walked out, as if I was dirt under their shoes. I had to have the suit, which I loved, but will never buy there again.
I want to feel loved as a customer when I part with my money.

The bag is another story. I was tempted by a bag article on 40plusstyle blog and found out I cannot buy this brand in The Netherlands (Coach). It took me several emails and phonecalls, and in the end it was shipped off.
Conveniently I forgot customs. I always do. A friendly note from DHL explaining the costs was enough never to order in the USA again. Fortunately I love the bag. It is really nice. Hopefully I will feel this way for life at this price.

(I feel a bit like Dita von Teese in this suit. Wishful thinking.)

Until tomorrow. Hope you will visit me then as well.
