A coat is a difficult piece of clothing in The Netherlands. We like to be fashionable and look pretty, but the weather gets in the way. It is usually windy, cold and rainy. And if you have to walk or cycle (we do that a lot) it is no fun to be all dolled up and getting soaking wet. Even now at the end of March, it is freezing cold.

So we tend to go for sensible coats. Sylvia of 40+ style always advocates colourful coats to brighten up our winter days and I agree. Which is why I have a yellow coat with purple faux fur collar and a red short coat (with top hat). But only if the weather allows it. And for spring I have my Versace Jeans Couture python print coat (scroll down two photos in that post), not colourful but very pretty in my opinion.

If it is really horrible, my big black coat by Annette Görtz is my refuge. I will hold on to that piece till it falls apart.  Very high quality stuff and they have the guts to present a model who is over 40. Bravo.

The little orange coat and scarf are gifts from my husband. Better said, I bought these with the gift cards he gave my stepdaughter and me a couple of months ago, which totally made our Saturday haha.

Below the Annette Görtz coat or anorak. It has a hood which is terrific when it rains and you have hair like me. It is rain-resistant on the outside and warm on the inside. Sleeves are wide enough to suit a jacket and the coat is long enough to wear over a long jacket. Big, deep pockets.
I don’t think it is particularly nice, but I have friends who adore it. What a comfortable coat.

Bring on Springtime.

Cream winter jacket, boyfriend jeans and 3 coloured booties

It does not happen very often that photos make me look this good. I was thrilled… at least 9 photos which made me look really good, which is why I am showing you a lot of them haha. Having a terrific hair day helped a lot.

This cream jacket has very long sleeves. As a matter of fact, you have to pull them over your hands. There is an opening to stick your thumb through. All very funny but in my opinion not very wearable.

The jacket is by Erny van Reijmersdal, a guy who used to design for Pauw. Pauw is a shop I have told you about before. I bought it with a blue/cream skirt and still wear it with that sometimes. But I prefer the jacket with my boyfriend jeans. Especially since I have my 3 coloured booties.

This outfit is in my top 10.

Hope you like this as much as I do.

Fur jacket with boyfriend jeans and 3 coloured booties

This fur lined jacket is for really cold weather and it was snowing, so…. As this is the year of new combinations, I decided to try something new with the jacket. You have seen this fur jacket with my charcoal skirt and I explained then it could get very hot. And it also rides up in wear. Very annoying.

Combining the jacket with the boyfriend jeans I could leave it open. Less hot and no more pulling down.
The red T-shirt underneath it gives me some colour and of course my new 3 coloured booties fit this picture perfectly.
A lot of photos look alike. I could not choose. Sorry.

Do you like this combination?

My back will never be my best part, but so be it.

3 coloured high heeled booties and purple jacket

Together with the black patent leather shoes my husband gave me these three-coloured booties. They are sky-high and are very easy to walk on. Surprise, surprise.

I have combined them with a purple (hard to see, but it is really very purple) velvet jacket (from Pauw), jeans, a sweater from H&M and coloured tights.

At the beginning I was quite pleased with myself for coming up with such a daring combination. My husband liked it, a good friend of mine liked it…… still I am not so sure.
It feels a bit like a circus outfit. Which gave my husband the idea for the last two pictures:
the magician (or the ringmaster) works her magic and a pink cat appears from the top hat.

 Below: the magician joke:

Tell me… too much? Or daring?
