It doesn’t happen often, but we were able to arrange a mini bloggers get-together in Haarlem. Misja (MisjaB), Anja (Curly Traveller) and I live in Haarlem and Sylvia (40+Style), although Singapore based, almost always spends some time in Haarlem in the summer. We all know each other and we all have a blog (well.. Sylvia’s blog is a website to be honest). It is not all about fashion and outfits in our conversations but as you can understand the subject does come up. View Post
Trying to get my photos a bit more interesting and of better quality, I am moving out of my garden and into the neighbourhood.
This day the weather was bright, sunny… and cold. I looked at my photography notes to see how the camera had to be set when I was wearing something light under these circumstances. It paid off to take notes AND consult them, as bingo… these photos were not half bad.
The tunic is by Acne, a brand from Stockholm in Sweden. I love the boxy look and I can make so many combinations with it. It is like a blanc canvas. The black 7/8 trousers are by Airfield.
Photographing in a street where you are unknown is funny. I can tell you that all the people who were passing, were very curious. You could see them think: “What is this woman doing there?”, “Why?” (a question I frequently asked myself). When I was so frozen my hands could not operate the remote, I packed it in.
This coat is by Kenzo and timeless in my opinion. Perhaps I can update it better by wearing other shoes with it or something like that. Did not try my new modern patent leather shoes as my dearest husband gave them to me after these photos were taken. I do like these Hugo Boss boots a lot as well.
In an attempt to make the coat even more fun I added a real top hat. We bought this vintage hat years ago in its original case. My husband said it looked nice on me. But…. the next day…..when I asked him whether he dared going to a department store with me wearing the hat, he declined. I have never known the man to lie to me, so what is happening here?
I have no idea what you think of it. But I dread your opinion, haha.
So, for a more “normal” look, here are photos without the hat.
Well, I am very curious what you have to say about it.
Because it is going to be a strange week with Christmas, I decided to post today. I will post again on Wednesday.
Lime is one of my favourite colours, much to my own surprise. Photographing my outfits made me realize that.
Just a couple of weeks ago I showed you my new lime jacket. When I bought it I knew in my heart it was totally superfluous……And yes it is. Because here is my old lime jacket. Different material (corduroy) and not my favourite as it is hard to combine.
In the near future I will show you this jacket with a beige/cream corduroy pair of trousers. Today with my trusted 7/8 black trousers and my “Hairy Harrys”.
The long necklace is made for me by a beads shop and the shorter one is made by Anja, the multi-talented girl.
Above: Anja’s necklace.
Below the necklace I had made to match a pair of summer sandals (I know…. I am a mental case.)
First of all guys & girls, I have to slow down. At this pace, posting a new outfit every day, I will be exhausted soon and my marriage might suffer. Having a more than fulltime job, it is not easy to take photos, choose the right ones, adjust them to a better size and write articles. Every day. I have underestimated the task.
So …. how about every other day? Will you still follow me? I do hope so.
Today I will show you my purple brown tunic. I can wear it “up” with black trousers and high heeled boots. Or “down” with jeans and flat boots. I can wear it with a blouse of with a T-shirt.
I especially like the back of the tunic. Most things I do not like at the back, but this one…hmmm, nice.
High heels are my preference (always), but if I want to go shopping my flat boots are a better choice and the outfit will still look nice.
What is your ideal combination with this tunic?
Above left: I did not take into account I was wearing jeans with a big belt underneath the tunic, so the tummy part of the tunic is sticking out a little.
Photo above: black pearls sometimes look purple. The pearl in my ring is more purple than the necklace and the earrings.
You have already seen a close-up of my high heeled cognac boots on December 7, so I am only showing the flat ones.
