As I have spent too much money on the fall/winter 2012 clothes, I now have to shop in my own closet.
Lots of stuff is hanging there, not exactly being 2012 but still very nice. Like this skirt.
Actually there are two skirts, the top one is sheer and sheer is IN.
This skirt was left on its own after I decided I did not like the lime-green jacket anymore with which I bought it. I could not think of another combination. But with my new-found “wisdom”, thanks to 40plusstyle and other bloggers, I felt confident enough to have a go at it.
So far I have come up with at least 3 combinations and I have not really tried hard.
Trying hard means: thinking up other colours and combinations than the obvious. Something I am not very good at.
Although this combination is very “brown”, it gives me a terrific figure.
I have also included a funny photo (last one). There was a fierce wind blowing and everytime I had my hair nice and neat, the wind blew it to pieces. And eh…. Josep-Maria, this is my new haircut.
Above: No I Do NOT Photoshop my wrinkles. Unfortunately they are back.
Above: despair!

I like the one color combination. The necklace is such a statement completely gives a sophisticated touch to the all look. Very well done!
Thanks for the compliment. I am trying to find time to photograph all my statement necklaces (quite a few).
I can’t seem to find the 3 combinations, at first look, they are all the same…….enlighten me Patski x
Ah… I have made 3 combinations, but am only showing one of them today. Have to save my outfit photos a bit for other days.
I love this silhouette on you. The different shades of brown with just a touch of white do the trick to make it visually interesting. Great job!
Thank you. Nice of you to visit me. You are very good in combining so the compliment is much appreciated.
I agree with all the ‘above’ about silhouette, etc, but you needed a bit of ‘colour’ to zap it up a bit. The necklace was nice, but not enough. Patski
You know there is a boring classic side to my caracter (the dark side haha).
Och.. ton-sur-ton is also nice. That is to say… to me. You rock more.
No, I like ton-sur-ton too, and I wear that often as well. It’s more with this color, it tends to become boring and elderly (IMHO) and not representing your personality.
I think so too. I was thinking of a turquoise belt or something like that, but I don’t have that. The yellow bag would of course be an option. Feel free to give me suggestions.
I agree about adding more color. That can be done e.g. by changing the top underneath for a colored one: red, orange, green, turquoise. Then it is possible to continue with that added color in the belt and /or in a necklace. But the look as it is is nice as well, just a bit boring;-).
I told you that brown is your new black, it really becomes you. I like the skirt a lot, it is not limited to time, the model is perfect for your figure. The above suggestions to combine it with yellow[your handbag], turquoise, orange, red, all these colours are great for new combinations.
I will make a list of all the suggestions. Because I cannot execute them right away. And sometimes I forget things which is a shame.
This is a great look Greetje. Sometimes it’s nice to just wear one tone and the the white shirt and necklace give it just enough light and pop to lift this outfit and make it special. You already know that the silhouette you created is perfect. I have to laugh every time I look at your last picture. The look of frustration on your face! Love the haircut too. All in all very well done and I can’t wait to see your other combinations with the skirt.
You should check out my failures of December 12. That will make you laugh some more…
Brown really suits you, and I agree that this is a great silhouette for you! I think the brown color of the skirt would go well with tomato red, cream, teal or turquoise, mustard and camel:)
Cream and turquoise Yes. Mustard is a bit more difficult when it is near my face but other yellows will do as well. Won’t they? Camel is out of the question for me. Tomato red is a very interesting combination with brown. Had not thought of that. Oh.. then orange would also be good.Lots of more options.
Beautiful haircut, you’re great with it. I really like this outfit brown. Maybe it’s because I’m too serious? 🙂 I love the sweater and the pattern and the cut of the skirt is very pretty. I think it’s a very successful, you look very elegant and pretty. The necklace is beautiful. Nice boot … 🙂
I just have it cut the same shape but a bit shorter as I like this style. Thank you for the compliments and NO I don’t think you are too serious. Quite the opposite. You are often very funny.
I like everything about this! It is a youthful and fun look. I know mixing many colors is very “In” right now but sometimes wearing one color from head to toe is perfect – and that is how I feel about this outfit. You have enough textures (sheer, knit, leather, and the beads) to make it interesting.Your haircut is lovely. 🙂 And the last pose is hilarious!USA Suzanne
Thanks Suzanne. Yes I like to put a smile on your face.
This is an amazing look, Greetje. The silhouette is great, and I LOVE every single thing about it.xo,Terryhttp://terrys-two-cents.blogspot.com
Oh wow, that is quite a compliment you gave me. Thank you.I was rather pleased with the silhouette myself. Always nice when you can give Mother Nature a hand. LOL

I agree, it’s a fantastic look for you Greetje. It seems to me that you can wear anything and make it your style. How do you do that? Is this something new you’ve learnt recently or have you always been able to throw different things together to make a wonderful ‘whole’?
Clothes always had my greatest interest from when I was very small. But I learn a lot from fellow bloggers like the ones that are in my list on the right. What I do now is: I take one item and grab everything that I vagely think could work and just try it.I am still not good at combining “strange” colours together like Anja and Catherine (Not dressed as Lamb) know how to do. Or think in the right proportions like Sylvia (40plusstyle) does. I just “dabble”.And no, I cannot wear anything. Oh no, really not. I am just showing you the successes. Don’t worry, soon I will come up with bloopers that will kill you laughing.
