This winter it is all about new combinations with me. Spent all my money last year on spring, summer and winter wardrobe, so I have to be more economic now. Actually it is fun to find different ways of wearing your stuff.
I normally wore this red dress with a black and white polka-dot sash. Very nice but only suitable for “in between weather”. In The Netherlands it is often either cold or hot. Which meant I did not get enough wear out of it. With these jackets I can wear it more often. With cardigan and boots in winter and with cream jacket and shoes in fall or spring. This small belt makes the outfit more 2012/2013. At least that is what I think. I like throwing dust in my own eyes.
Anja came up with the cardigan combination and I thought of the cream jacket. Slowly getting there.
Greetje
Great idea, and I don’t have any favourite. I think they are equally very nice, very adapted to the season. Although I am longing for the cream jacket combination because I have had it with the snow.
So do I. Longing for springtime.
This dress is the perfect piece to layer over because of the collar and cuffs. They look so nice with a jacket or a sweater. I am sure you can come up with other combinations too. Mixing bright colors together is very “IN”. And I would belt everything I wear if I could so I am all for that too.You and Marianne made me laugh with your talk of snow! Guess what my hubby bought me today? A new shovel! LOL! Your hubby buys you fabulous booties and mine buys me a snow shovel. 🙂 But I had worn the bottom off of my favorite one and so he got me one that is lighter and carries more snow with less effort so he put some thought into it.Guess what else? I went to the salon today and those young girls may have talked me into adding a bright streak of blue to my blond hair. It is a little wild but I think I like it. And my son thinks I am awesome as his university colors are blue and yellow. Hahaha! If our basketball team makes it to the playoffs in March I might do it again. :)Suzanne
A singer in a band in his spare time?!! Could your husband be any cooler?!! You two are the perfect couple. 🙂 I am so happy you have adopted me! I adore your neighbors too – Anja and Marianne and the baker around the corner. LOL! When I come to visit I may never leave!
For the record, Anja is friend and neighbour. Marianne is friend who lives in a town 10 miles aways. Which probably is, to American standard, a neighbour too haha. And yes it was cool when he was a singer in a band. He has a beautiful voice.Ans so you know, I always have the bed in the spare room ready. It is a single bed but it is also my dressing room, so you will be in your element.
I love these colour streakes in your hair. Always wanted it but never did as it limits me tto much with my outfits. My husband used to have a streak of colour in his hair about 5 years ago (he is now 65 haha). He even had it silver all over which turned blue the next day. I liked it. At that time he was a singer in a band in his spare time. Used to rock the podium and made me so proud. And as far as your husband goes: giving you a new and improved shovel is also an act of love.
And wouldnt this black cardi work perfect on your black leather skirt? Combined with a bright top and bright accessories?
Love the red dress and how you styled it!-Vogue&Heelsvogueandheels.wordpress.com
Thanks you long haired beauty.
Maybe even the cream jacket, with a black Tshirt under it…?
I tried the cardigan on the leather skirt. Did not work. Don’t know why not. Nanne also suggested the cream jacket. That might work.
You look fabulous in both combinations and red is a great color for you. Versatility is something I always appreciate with a well loved piece.
I am starting to discover that. Most of the times I have pieces which are not versatile at all.
I love the way the skirt, has a fall and a beautiful movement. Not to choose from. I like both proposals. With white jacket and shoes, is more formal. With black jacket and boots, more casual. I’ll take both, you are beautiful with both.
Glad you like them. Looking beautiful is something I strive for.
I too prefer the black-red combo as it is more dramatic. That dress is very flattering indeed!
Well, well, well. Did not think this combination was a winner as the cardigan is a bit short. But I will take your word for it haha.
Always a winner La Dress. My favorite combination is the black one, brings out the bolder Greetje better than the other combination. With the cream jacket it becomes a bit to British (tuttig) to me which is not you.
It is also me. Sometimes. But I get your point. Thanks love (is that British or what?)
We go on thinking about new tops for your black leather skirt. Believe me one day it will happen. And probably just by accident. So put it back in your closet and focus on your new spring purchases. Your top is very colourfull, but that is still a secret waiting for nice weather to come out.
Yes, you are right. Your black and white top is not bad on the skirt, but it could still be improved.
Such a joy to see you in a dress, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh I love it with the white jacket better.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Aha, now the score for the two dress combinations evens out. Thanks Sacramento
These are both amazing outfits, Greetje. I LOVE red, and you’ve paired that dress perfectly with both white and black.xo,Terryhttp://terrys-two-cents.blogspot.com
Thanks Terry. Both combinations are rather obvious, you would think. Not to me though… I am not a natural stylist.
The red dress is classy, Greetje. I prefer the black combination, it looks “cooler”.AnnetteLady of Style
That is a surprise. You are very sophisticated so I had you down for the cream/red as a preference. Just goes to show that you cannot think for others.

Although apparently I myself came up with the black cardigan ( don’t remember, but then my memory sucks…), I prefer the combo with the cream jacket;-). It has a happier, lighter look. And I think I find the dress less nice with (black) boots….Having said that, both combo’s look nice.
