Well fooks…. here we are again. Me and the dog. And the weeds. It is getting embarrasing.
In my defense, I have been doing a lot of overtime each day for the past 3 or 4 weeks, even on my day off.
Doing the weeds by hand, proved to be rather a task and I have given in to a weed killer. But… that is not as easy as you might think. It has to be the right weather: not too sunny or too hot, no wind and… no rain to be expected for 24 hours. I mean, this is The Netherlands for Pete’s sake. No such weather so far.
Let us continue with the outfit. The trousers you have seen last year with the matching orange sweater. The yellow necklace is boring you to death by now. And the yellow shoes are quite a returning item as well. Just to prove to you, my ability to mix and match.
I bet you thought that my only skill was buying more clothes and shoes. You are not too far wrong.
However, this time the top is ancient. Nice in summer when it is not too hot, as it is thick linen. The trousers are also in-between-material. The only item to get cold, are my feet.
Dog Charlie is going to be in nearly every picture as I could not get rid of her.
Below: bum covering.. yeah, that’s what we need.
[twocol_one][/twocol_one] [twocol_one_last][/twocol_one_last]Below: just one more over-exposed picture of a sunny day and a dog who was getting in the way. Hey… that rhymes.

PS here is a link to loads of other bloggers at Visible Monday.
Love the cut of those pants on you! They are really flattering and on-trend.
I am getting to know better and better what suits me and what not. But I am still able to get it totally wrong haha.
I love those pants. I was looking at one very similar in jcrew today. You paired it up nicely with the yellow shoes and black top,…Love it. As for the weeds. Live is a load. Get it when you can.
I totally agree with you. By the way, did you also see the trousers with the orange sweater? That is a nice combination too.
This is a very clever way of introducing yellow without it being overpowering and the black on the trousers pulls the whole look together. I love you in this outfit and don’t notice any weeds! Just you and of course your lovely dog.
Great outfit Greetje, I wish I had your figure too.
Just knowing what to do with the figure you have Aileen, that is the trick. I can put on clothes and combinations that would make you burst out laughing. But I have grown wiser. LOL
I really like this look Greetje. These pants have sporty vibe with the black side. I have been looking for similar pants but black on black for work. I think they are called tuxedo pants. These pants are suppose to be slimming and I need all the help I can get.
Love that you are using what’s in your closet. I am great at buying new clothes too but it’s when you use what’s in your closet that makes you a great fashionista 🙂

I have to thank Anja for that really. She made me shop in my own closet. I am better at buying haha.
I think a lot of practise putting outfits together on your own figure does help. Also the great advice on websites like yours helps too. It takes a bit of time to work out what suits us and also more than a bit of patience too!
I’m still a learner, but hopefully making some progress.
Very true. I learned a lot from other bloggers too. And from a good styling advice and a colour advaice by a professional. And from taking photos. Most of the times the photo proves whether an outfit is right. Not the mirror. All of a sudden the photo reveils that the dress is too short, the trousers too long etc etc. Strange phenomenon.
I love those trousers Greet…..the side stripe give the pants a sporty vibe! And adding those yellow shoes made the look more fun!

Anja, my nextdoor neighbour, friend and stylist, came up with this combination at one of our “sessions” last year.
Lovely trousers, they are really cute. I like interesting trousers, they remind me of a reverse tuxedo style trouser.
Also I’m glad to see Miss Charlie Dog. She’s such a sweet looking pup.
Thanks for leaving your comment. I like the tuxedo style. I even have a sort of modern tuxedo suit which I showed a couple of months ago.
And Charlie is already 6 years old, to be 7 in November.
Love those pants
They are like super fancy tuxedo pants
Brett
Or super fancy jogging trousers haha.
Greetje, I loved your tuxedo pants so much that I finally bought a pair of my own, so thank you for another fun outfit idea to copy. Your weeds actually make these photo’s quite inviting and Charlie is simply adorable.
If I lived closer I would sneak over and weed for you (that’s what friends do for one another).
Me and my weeds could do with this act of friendship. At the moment my arm hurts from RSI. Have to be careful. This hobby does not help either. Glad you like the trousers. Cannot wait to see your tuxedo trousers.
Let’s see here … pretty lady, great pants with great shirt … sunshine, pretty garden and
multiple dog bombs. Excellent! (If I worried about the weeds, here, I’d never thing of anything else!)
Good looking pants, lady.
But Charlie steals the show, every time. She loves her Mama!
Hahaha, funny comment Jan. Thanks. And yes I cannot beat the dog. I think the dog beat me with my husband too, although Ron always says that I am number one. I am not so sure…
What a delightful post Greetje. I never tire of colour, and these shoes and necklace are fantastic. So sunny! Can I just say that I adore Charlie. And remember, the alternative to all that beautiful green is, well nothing. So don’t worry about a few weeds my friend.
I cannot worry about the weeds, my life is too busy. Thank you for your kind comment.
Greetje, I think I said the other day, these pants … mmmmm, I just like. This black stripe on the side seems a little jogging suit for sports. I like the whole black and white, with the boldness of yellow shoes, but the line … The photo I like best is the last, because the line is not seen.
I had not thought of that yet, but you are probably right. These trousers must have been inspired by jogging trousers. The material is completely different though.
Never mind, I am even quite glad you don’t like something for a change. I cannot be doing it right all the time. That is humanly impossible.
I love how you always throw in a touch of color with your shoes. Something I usually don’t do, but I love it when I see it on others.
I never used to do that until I started blogging. It has really changed my styling.
Hello, Charlie, how adorable are you? Greetje, your outfit is really sharp and I do love the yellow shoes. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday!
And linking up from this side too Patti. And Charlie is such a dear. Already 6 years to be 7 in November.
I am in love with the pop of yellow in this outfit, Greenje! The pants are so chic as well; I love a classy looking two-toned pant that’s tailored properly.
Thank you Amiyrah, for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I always feel very modern in these trousers. As long as I wear high heels. Otherwise they look bad.

I think this top looks nice on these trousers too. But I can not figure out how the top works. It looks like you fold the front towards the back and then tie them up in the back. Did you use round up for the weeds. That normally works.
Yes we have Round up, but the conditions have to be just right otherwise it does not work or it destroys the normal plants too.
And yes, you tie the side sections of the top to the back. Well spotted.
First of all I like very much your pants and find you look chic with them.I have seen at Max Mara that they match that colour with rust one. ( just to inform you ). . . I like both your dog and your garden, they make a nice location of your post, very you!
One disadvantage of having loooong holidays, is that one gets an appearance more and more wild ( if only you could see me at this moment!!)
Hahaha, Sylvia at 40plusstyle is complaining about the same thing. When I had wild hair during a holiday, I just went to the hair dresser. Which is why I like civilized places for vacation.
