When I left for a week’s holiday in Spain, this was my travel outfit. Flat comfortable shoes, a stretchy blue/white striped capri and a white jacket + top (by Irie Wash). You saw the jacket before in this post. Nothing pinches and layers for temperature differences. Fortunately it was rather warm when we left The Netherlands. We were quite mean as we took all that warmth with us to Javea in Spain. LOL
What was the holiday like?? Well: 30 degrees Celcius, beach with some wind, swimming pool, shopping and 4 girlfriends to laugh with till after midnight. You will see some holiday shots at the end of the post.
Before I went, I visited friend and neighbour Anja who took my outfit photos in her garden. She blogs about her travels to Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Korea, India etc. (Curly Traveller).
Below: Anja the Curly Traveller.Below: the first thing I always do before a photo shoot in Anja’s garden, is removing all the weeds growing between the bricks… Needless to say Anja captured that. The background is Anja’s garden shed which she decorated herself. I am sorry about the moiré look of the trousers. I could not get rid of it in Lightroom.Below: the trousers are slightly distressed and striped. You have seen them before with an orange shirt.Below: while I was killing the weed I discovered a bamboo shoot… Which had to be removed. In my opinion. It didn’t give in that easy.Below: we tried a different background. Anja loves things like little flamingos (the pink and grey ones at the bottom) and the candle holder in the shape of a cat.Below: Close-up of the top which I am wearing underneath the jacket. Also by Irie Wash. It has little silver balls stuck on it. Quite interesting to see how long they will stay there….Below: now for some holiday snapshots. First photo…. the gang. We celebrated our 25th anniversary as friends. (Unfortunately the 6th friend couldn’t come.) Below: this is how they tease me when I am asking for a good photograph…Below: strolling along the boulevard of our beach (3 minutes walk from the appartment).Below: the swimming pool of the appartment complex. The four of them are right in the middle of the pool, waving at me (standing on the balcony).Below: this photo was taken at the airport when we left. This is about the nicest my hair can be. Wish it would look like that all the time.Lovely holiday. Not one single irritation or wrong word. Only laughing, talking, shopping, sun bathing, eating and cocktails.

PS I am linking up with Style Nudge Shoe and Tell, where bloggers show their fabulous shoes.
Really enjoyed this post, have to agree with Melanie, the happy beauties make it a delight to read! Also have been considering a white jacket this summer (my first) but was worried I’d look like a lab tech, you’ve convinced me to go for it, thanks x
Oh I know!! I was afraid I would look like an icecream salesman or a judoka. Especially because this is a wrap jacket. It is careful figuring out but it can be done and then it is a lovely look. Did you also see my previous post with this jacket?
I love how happy every one is!! Looks like tons of fun.
It was indeed.
What a fun vacation with some friends, you can tell all of you have a wonderful time! I love your striped pants, they are so fun!

Hope to see you Thursday for TBT Fashion linkup.
Thanks Alice. Yes it was a wonderful vacation.
Oh, yes, and an idea for a future post:
A while back you posted photos of yourself in various garments and asked for input on what to keep and what to dispose of. You had a number of responses, quite varied. I thought it would be interesting if you went back and told us of your final decisions and your reasoning behind them.
The reactions were so different that I only gave away the olive coloured wrap dress. So that would be a short post haha. But I love the way you think with me. Your first idea is a hit and will continue now the weather is better.
I am one of the friends in this post, the lazy one, always sitting down. The outfit Greetje was wearing was really great. The material of the white top is so lightweight that it looks like it floats around your body. Needless to say that we had a great time. We went out every day for lunch or dinner, so we dressed up every time. Greetje’s wardrobe was a fashionshow on it’s own. The dress she was wearing on the boulevard she bought in Denia. It is boho style and I totally love it.
I am wearing the dress today Marianne, so nice and comfortable. Hope you agree to me publishing your picture. I forgot to ask you. So stupid of me.
You never have to ask me, I like being on your blog.
thanks ever so much
What fun pics and what a fabulous time you obviously had on your travels. I was recently gifted a classic white blazer from a retailer and I love it. So many options to wear it with. I like your laid-back look with the cropped skinnies and flats. You look very French.
Oh that is a nice compliment… “looking very French”. Thanks.
I haven’t made it in blogger’s world yet as I don’t get any free clothes. Mind you I always decline any advertising offers. So far there hasn’t been anything interesting. And I don’t think my number of readers is that impressive…
So many fun and fabulous pictures Greetje. Love the blue the and white outfit as well as your long dress. Pity I did not see you wearing that ‘in the flesh’. All your friends look fab too and Marianne looks smoking hot in that minty flower dress ensemble!
Thanks Sylvia. I am wearing the blue dress today. Needless to say that Ron didn’t like it haha. I knew that in advance. Tough for him this time.
The white jacket is so beautiful, I love white for summer.
I can see you have such fun, with your friends,
Your posts always brighten my day.

That is what I aim for with my blog Gaby: to let people smile. I am glad it works.
Oh MAN! This post makes me happy! Seeing you with your friends, at complete ease, enjoying each other’s company just puts a smile on my face.
Your travel wardrobe is perfect! Some people think white is not a good idea for traveling in, but I wear it and love it!
This white is good for travel as you only have to throw it in the washing machine, take it out and hang it up. No ironing. So I am not afraid of dirt when wearing it.
And I am very glad you like the post so much.
The thing I love about this post is seeing everyone have such fun, you fighting with weeds, Anja in her runners, a bunch of friends hanging at the beach. Unguarded moments. Such a fantastic holiday! Let’s see what you’re up to on the next 25th-year meet-up.
The beach photo sums up what it is to have really great friends. Priceless, truly. Thanks for the peek! Oh, and perfect, travel wear.
I was surprised to see your comment…. only to find out I had my dates mixed up. The 27th is a Saturday, not a Sunday.
Oh well, who cares.
I like that you like.
Best jacket everrrrrrrrrrr and what a wonderful happy pics. Next time Málaga, ok?
I was laughing with your comment cos it was terrible once in Berlin in May, but there even worse no airco at all no freezing point, hahhahahha.
It is also hot here but thw house we have now has thick wall so no need for much heating in winter or aircon. in summer.
You are such a lot of fun and fabulousness
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXxx
I find fluctuating temperatures like being in a room with airco on full blast and then go outside where it is hot, very difficult. I know “cardigans” are the solution, but I am not a cardigan type of girl.
Thank you for all your compliments. You make me shy.
Grretje,
Love these happy photos ! This si a pretty group of women having fun! Love you capris and the perfect way you styled them, with all white and comfy chic shoes. So important to travel with an outfit “where nothing pinches!” !!
OK< the sot of your backside, I know you were gardening…but! em… you do have a god backside– show off! 😉
Love Anya's look with the high tops and boho printed top!
The pool looks inviting!
Well done. You look chic and the photos tell a great story!
and you look a bit fierce with that bamboo! 🙂

Glad you enjoyed it Elle.
You have such fun, Greetje, and such great friends. Your posts always brighten my day.
FYI: Remember your Street Style Over 40 series? I pinned all the photos on my “Advanced Style” board. Thought you would be interested to know that the photo of the very elegant-looking blonde lady in a white top and gray pants has been pinned 27 times and “liked” 5 times! According to my standards, this qualifies as minor celebrity! Little does she know…
That lady in white and grey was my first lady for my first Street Style. Indeed, little does she know. Thank you for your lovely comment. It is comments like these I live for as a blogger.
Up to 30 pins now (since Sunday). I tell you, this lady is becoming an international sensation!
Hahaha. The world is full of possibilities.
Hahaha, you are so funny, Greetje and I personally think that the best travels are with the girlfriends (don’t let my husband know this, lol!) Thank you for sharing these pictures and still hoping that one day we could meet personally 🙂
I totally agree. Fortunately my husband thinks the same. He doesn’t like holidays that much.
(What makes me proud, is when you say you think I am funny.)
Your post on Saturday? That is new!
Beautiful smiling ladies and I guess … a fantastic holiday!! And you look so happy… very nice dress in the last photo….
I scheduled the post on the wrong date haha. And if you approve of the long dress I feel much happier. Ron doesn’t like it and I eas not that sure either. So thank you for this compliment.
Finally catching up on blog posts (after my little get away to see Tori and Molly). This post just made my day. So much happiness! I love that you all still make the effort to get together and spend quality time. And what a bunch of gorgeous women! That last picture of your hair is awesome, don’t you just love the good hair days? And your travel attire, well it’s perfect!!!! From your shoes to your tops. I’m actually in love with your dress in the one photo.
Ah.. the long dress… That one is slightly out of my comfort zone. Ron doesn’t like it which doesn’t help. But it is such a comfortable dress and I can wear flat shoes with it. That is a plus. And I am behind with blogposts of other bloggers too due to the holiday. Will catch up.
Maybe its better in real life, but from the picture, I don’t like that dress on you. The other #OOTD’s are fab.
And the pictures of your group and your holiday are fantastic. So much fun, it seems.
Yes it was a lot of fun Anja. Don’t know whether the dress is your style. It is not form fitting. But it is “Ibiza” an boho…
ohhhh I’m really jealous seeing these pictures!!!! your outfit it’s simply nice and elegant, you have to wear more often this kind of pants Greetje!
Mi Blog de Moda
Only in summer M. Carmen, otherwise I find them too cold. I have a pair of black and a pair of white trousers like these. And 7/8 trousers in black/white and a pair in blue and in grey/green. Quite a lot actually.

You chose quite a nice swanky spot by the look of it.
Nice to see Anja here too.
Miss you guys!

Sylvia is here in Haarlem too. But soon we will have the same fun together when Sylvia and I are in Vancouver.
The swanky appartment is owned by one of the girls’ husband. She recently married him, which is why we all of a sudden had an “affordable”-as in free- place to go. The tickets aren’t expensive. Mind you, with all that shopping and eating outdoors… it does add up. But we were very grateful for the beautiful place.
Missing you too, sweetie!
