Max Mara flower skirt with a blue sweater

Flower skirt MM & blue sweater (39)_LRThis Max Mara flower skirt is the last skirt I bought at the outlet in Turin. I brought back half a suitcase full of good stuff. While trying everything on in Turin, Daniela handed me three boxy sweaters to go with the skirts and I thought they looked terrific. Trying them on again at home I chickened out. I only use one of them on an A-line skirt (still to show on the blog) and the rest on pencil skirts. We didn’t select a top for the skirt which you see today. I think that this blue sweater (brand Vanilia, seen before here) is nice with it as the grey in the skirt is a bit bluish. The belt is ancient. (Remember I said I never throw out belts or scarves?) The colour brown of the belt is exactly the same as the boots. (After seeing these photos I knew I should have kept the belt just a little bit lower….) View Post

Baby blue

Blue sweater, blue coat, blue shoes (3 van 9)Referring to last week’s post… remember? We were shopping for red pumps and I bought blue suede ones. As I was paying for them Ron was very content with my blue shoes, because…… (and I am quoting) “he had seen such a beautiful outfit in the shop across the road…. in blue”. I am a sucker for clothes that he likes. I want to buy them immediately because 1) he has great taste and knows how to style and 2) because I buy enough outfits he is not that keen on. So when I can buy and wear something that pleases both him and me… I do. The shop window across the road showed this ensemble in baby blue. (Or is it lavender?) And I liked it. View Post

A blue sweater with a blue and cream striped skirt

Blue sweater with blue and cream striped skirt (3 van 6)In my attempt to wear more skirts, I dived into my closet, pulled out this old skirt and styled it….. But I think it has had its last outing….. Gosh, it is so hard for me to style skirts in a modern way. In the old days I just wore a fitted jacket with this skirt. Perfect. The jacket got too tight (it was rather tight to start with) and I had to give it away. The skirt was hanging in the closet, doing absolutely nothing. Then I thought of this new blue sweater (seen before here). View Post

A blue sweater as a background for a pink scarf

SAMSUNG CSCIt was a very cold and grey day, last Wednesday, when I agreed to meet my friend Ineke at Elsa’s for lunch. Elsa’s is a nice café for drinks, lunch and dinner on the east side of Amsterdam. Ever so friendly people serving and if you rise to it, lots of Amsterdam tongue-in-cheek, which I absolutely adore. The one draw-back of living in Haarlem… having to miss this humor. I wore a blue sweater as a background for a pink scarf. View Post
