Citytrip to Maastricht

Citytrip to MaastrichtWe were supposed to go to Paris in September for a couple of days. Dog sitter was arranged, the invitation to the big brocante market Chatou had arrived (remember last year?)… and Ron got a kidney stone. Very painful for a couple of days, hospital etc. but fortunately in 5 days he was back on his feet. Only the kidney stone is still there and will be removed in October. You can imagine that he doesn’t really want to go too far away in case the darned stone decides to descend again. Instead of Paris we opted for a 2 days citytrip to Maastricht. This is a magnificent old town in the deep south of our country, 2 1/2 hours drive from where we live (that is far for us Dutch). View Post

Bright blue top with a camel, pleated skirt

Bright blue topNow, this, I believe, is a stunner of a photo. Ron had spotted a coleseed field and asked whether I had a bright blue top. Hah, as it so happened, I had this outfit lined up for the next photo shoot. The reasonable weather was over but the pretty yellow flowers were not going to wait for ideal circumstances. Rain was expected at 11 a.m and we left the house at 9.30 a.m. Talk about cutting it short.  View Post

Shopping in Haarlem

Anke, Greetje and SabineYes we did it again…. Shopping in Haarlem this time. At the end of one of these Saturdays our little group of friends can hardly wait for the next date. I think we could happily do this at least once a month. Alas, there is not enough money in the bank for that. We choose a different town each time. As you might have seen, we have been in Eindhoven, Antwerp, Utrecht, Amsterdam, again Amsterdam, and I probably forgot a few times. View Post

The Paris Necklace

Paris necklaceAnd here it is…. The Paris Necklace. With three capitals. The one I told you about in my post about Paris with Susan. The one which caused my credit and debit cards to be (literally) in the freezer. Just as the gloves it came from Alexandra Sojfer, 218, Boulevard Saint Germain. Mind you, I am beginning to see the beauty of this necklace. I have worn it several times now and it really draws positive attention. Much more than any necklace ever has. View Post

Sightseeing in Apeldoorn with my friend Lia

Sightseeing in ApeldoornOnce a year my friend Lia and I go away on a long weekend. Funded by my husband Ron as my birthday present. He knows how much I enjoy spending time with her so he provides the means (love him). We have been to Paris (twice), London, Rome, Milan, Copenhagen, Barcelona and this time we went sightseeing in Apeldoorn. Due to an illness Lia has overcome but it still recovering from, we didn’t want to go abroad this time. A trip to the east of our country, into the woods seemed a good idea. View Post
