Imagine…three bloggers meeting for lunch. What do they bring? Right!! Cameras. All three of them. So meeting Anja (Curly Traveller) and Misja (misjab.nl) for lunch, meant I needed to wear something you hadn’t seen yet. With all the pictures that were bound to be taken, I could create another blog post without having to trouble Ron. Anja is photographing for a long time and she knows how to handle my pigheaded camera too. Her blog shows wonderful pictures of all her travels. And Misja is a photographer by trade. Her blog features all kinds of people she photographs in the street (indeed… Street Style), but only of people over 40.
We met at Buitenplaats in the village Vogelenzang. More about Buitenplaats in this post, as Anja and I were there before with Sylvia of 40+Style. And indeed, we all brought cameras haha. Be prepared to see a lot of photos as there were three times more pictures than usual to choose from. Are you familiair with the expression “kill your darlings”? That is choosing only a few of so many gorgeous ones. I think I am not much of a killer.
I am going to add an A, a G or a M after every “Below” to indicate who took the picture. Credits where credits are due.
Above (M): I was quite pleased when I saw myself in action in this picture. I can still bend my knees pretty good. I mean, at my age? On high heels? haha.
Below (M): let’s start at the beginning: Anja and me having coffee. I had just blowdried my hair. It paid off.
Below (G): Misja, looking serious.
Below (M): Anja was wearing a lovely white sweater with lots of blue jewellery. Her motto is “more is more”. Blue, glitter and silver on her nails.
Below (G): lovely earrings.
Below (A): see?? Cameras. And laughter.
Below (M): “What do you want from me?!!?” (that must have been on Anja’s mind).
Below (G): this adorable little girl was too nice not to photograph. I love babies and toddlers. Her mother didn’t mind me taking pictures of her and putting them on the blog. I did ask.
Below (M): Misja photographed me while I photographed the sweet little girl.
Below (G): after lunch we went outside (it is a beautiful big place with a big, light restaurant inside and a huge space outside. Lovely in summer.) Anja was the first star.
Below (G): as you can see a “more is more” girl. Even though it isn’t my style, I can appreciate it very much on her. Maybe if I had her hair ??? Gosh I so envy her for that hair.
Below (M): I tried to photograph her booties and directed her how to stand. Not very well I suppose, as she said: “Like this you mean?”
Below (M): no, not like that! OK I’ll bend my knees.
Below (G): the result. Cool booties.
Below (A): we continued. I was trying to photograph Misja, but the funny thing is, she is not that keen on having her photograph taken and published. Which I find quite funny for a photographer and blogger.
Below (G): so she hid behind the camera. Misja loves clothes from Dries van Noten, like this vest for instance. Trousers are Acne.
Below (G): there is a place outside where you can have parties in the summer and they have parasols.
Below (A): Misja had an idea for a photo, making the parasol look like a hat. I made at least 10 shots, all wrong. Anja got this pretty good shot.
Below (G): this is presumably where they sell drinks outside in summer. Anja wouldn’t mind being a bartender.
Below (A): then it was my turn. Misja adjusting my jacket and my shirt.
Below (M): oh gosh, that shirt is still gaping …
Below (M): now what did I learn? DON’T TALK while you are being photographed.. I never learn.
Below (M): bingo. The outfit: jeans jacket from G-Star, tuxedo jeans by Not Your Daughter’s Jeans (sooo comfortable), shirt by Filippa K, tucked only half, as fashion “dictates”. Bag by Goshico (from Poland). Necklace…yes the one you saw two weeks ago, The Paris Necklace, now without the knot.
Below (A): they had rotan chairs to sit in. (Must come back in summer.)
Below (A): checking shots.
Below (M): earring, custom made.
Below (M): a close-up of the necklace and the ring.
Below (M): checking shots again. As you can see, the jacket closes properly. I want to find another style of shirt with this jacket too. With a shirt like this, the outfit is a little masculine. Not that this is bad, but I do need the pumps for balance in the outfit.
It was a splendid afternoon. Needless to say we chatted a lot. Girlfriend gatherings… you know how I feel about those.
Greetje
Linking up with Adrienne (of The Rich Life in Wine Country) and Jill (of Everything Just So), who both hosted the How I wear my…blue. See the bloggers in blue here and here.
You are a great photographer Greetje! The one you took of me when we met in London is one of my all time favourites! You always look like you are having so much fun with your girlfriends.
I am not really a great photographer Lorraine. Just the lucky shot now and again. I just shoot point blanc, never any interesting angles or background. But you are right about the one I took of you, that is lovely.
i’m so thankful to have found your blog and have spent all morning perusing the content. there’s much more to see but pesky work claims focus. sigh.. like your friend, i prefer myself hidden in pictures .. recently i shared a few shots of myself on my own blog – partial peeks. have a lovely day. ♥
Hi Sherry, many thanks, glad you like my blog. I try to incorporate some fun, some laughter in every post, because I think the world needs more laughter. Who doesn’t like that, right?
Being an extravert (quite extreem too) I don’t mind plastering my face on the blog or whereever. Just as I don’t think twice going up to a women who is dressed lovely to ask whether I can take her photo for the blog. But we are all different and that is good. Variety is what we need.
I know I’ve said this before but then you throw in another wonderful post . . . So this is my new favorite!!! Love EVERYTHING about it, from the fun get together, to all the wonderful photos to one of your best outfits ever! My favorite photo is the one of you and Misja both holding and shooting away with your camera’s. Although both these women captures some amzaing photo’s of you. And this outfit, seriously??? The Best! Love the crisp white blouse effortlessly half tucked, the tuxedo pants, the denim jacket/bazer, your bag (that I want right now, haha) and the perfect shoes. Well done!
It was such fun to make this post. If it was up to me I would only make these kind, but too little time alas. When you are entertained I am glad.
What a fabulous trio Greetje!
I was delighted to see some more experienced ladies wearing really fashionable outfits without heading into “crazy” territory.
Chic, stylish, elegant but still unique and eyecatching.
Beautiful.
I was particularly in love with the eye-brooch adorned neckline (exactly my kind of thing… my eye brooch is one of my favourites) and the fur coat.
Striped sleeves and structured lines also get a BIG nod of admiration from me!
As for your tuxedo jeans/trousers….I think I might NEED them in my wardrobe :o)
Wonderfully inspiring post! XXX
Samantha
Oh, great praise from someone as creative as you. Thanks. I have an eye brooch as well (yellow with black and red) and it is my favourite too. I could really do with more of these modern brooches. I liked your yellow enamel one as well.
LOVE How you have FUN!The umbrella as a HAT was a GREAT IDEA……………….
OFF TO INVESTIGATE the other TWO!
Yes Misja is a good photographer with creative ideas. And you are an explorer “investigate the other two”. Kudos.
It’s funny to see you and Misja taking photos to each other at the same time! Of course it is what can happen when a blogger meets another blogger …:-)
The blazer/high heels/trousers outfit works well on you … a good alternative to a dress or skirt/sweater one ( but, as you know…always my favourite! )
I am doing fine with dresses and skirts don’t you think? I am trying to alternate: one week skirt/dress and another week trousers.
My favorite photo of you is the first! You look great as always! Love the jeans with the heels … will have to try this myself!
Thanks for the compliments. Jeans with high heels is a classic. The ultimate classic is: jeans, white shirt, black fitted jacket and high heels. Indeed do try it yourself.
I don’t think anything can look masculine on you! What a lovely day you had, I always love Misha s street style finds and I love Anja s look! Love the hair! I think that jacket is absolutely stunning on you, the lengthy, the color, the design, it all looks like it’s made for you! Fabulous!
Jackets and me are great friends. That is.. fitted jackets. You should have seen me struggle with a grey boxy boyfriend jacket (old posts). In the end I gave it away. It really made me look butch.
Those jeans look fab on you Greetje but you are blessed with such wonderfully long slim
Legs – you lucky girl!
I might try them out myself to see if they can work a miracle on my short legs.
Have a look what the difference is between a column of one colour like black straight/skinny jeans with black booties, or the same trousers with pumps like mine, so with a bit of flesh in between the trousers and the shoes. I find sometimes one is better than the other, but cannot put my finger on it yet why en when. The same with the width of the trousers. Sometimes it is better when they are more straight and sometimes I need really skinny. In any case, elongating your legs works best by keeping it all one colour at the bottom and of course wearing high heels.
Ayyy, that necklace! It’s so gorgeous no matter what you pair it with. I need to include mine in the next photo shoot. I think the jacket is good on you…the fabric weave is a bit more refined and polished, and the color really looks good. I love both Misja’s and Anja’s styles too, and would borrow elements from both of them. (In fact, Misja’s look just gave me an idea for an oversized vest…)
That is what we are there for on earth, we bloggers … to give inspiration haha. And if I can make you laugh in the process all the better.
What a fun trip! The photos of you taking photos are great 🙂 I love your outfit – it’s smart casual, one of my favourite styles. Anja’s coat and boots are just fabulous, and I love Misja’s Dries Van Noten vest over the stripe top. You’re all such stylish ladies!

And all so different, aren’t we? But we do appreciate each other’s style. It was a fun lunch.
I love getting together with other bloggers and doing photo shoots; I wish I could do it more often. The three of you make such stylish subjects! You look very professional in the first photo, checking your camera while kneeling in heels 😉
Can I just say that little girl has THE most fabulous outfit! I have worn denim cutoffs over leggings or tights but it never looked that cute, and the metallic booties. She must have the coolest Mom.
I had no idea that tucking in half of your shirt was a “thing” now. I must pay closer attention to what is “in” (not)
This is a delightful post of three bloggers who are also friends. I can tell by the photos and commentary that you know and care about each other. Such spontaneous self expression!
We met through Sylvia although Anja had spotted Misja as well. We all live in Haarlem so whenever Anja (and Sylvia) is in the country, we meet. Sometimes I meet Misja on my own as well, as we two are the steady ones.
What fun photos, and what a great time you women must have had!
I love your denim blazer, and I NEED THOSE TUXEDO JEANS in my life!
Thanks for sharing your fun days with us, Greetje. Always such a pleasure to read 🙂
I am afraid the tuxedo jeans are one or two years old. When I got them in the right size, they weren’t as skinny as they were two sizes smaller (I kno, I know), but I had my seamstress take the legs in. Now they are fine. And as the trousers have a high waist, they are very comfortable too. Thanks for the lovely compliments.
You look like you all had a wonderful time, despite the dreary winter weather. You are all so beautifully dressed, but in completely different styles. I love all of them. They suit each one of you. I particularly like Misja’s black vest. It’s a very unusual design, how the front comes over to the arm seam like that. Your outfit perfectly suits you and shows off your lovely long legs (and your new necklace). And I love the colour and fantasy of Anna’s outfit. Who wouldn’t want lots of wavy hair too. I would love it. Mine is fine and flyaway. It was lovely to read such a jolly post. Thanks for them all.
it is entirely my pleasure to create these posts. It is the hobby I always longed for. And I am so pleased when people read and appreciate these posts. Especially when they tell me in a comment. So thank YOU.
Yes we all have completely different styles and that black jacket of Misja… you have to hand it to a good designer like Dries to create something that stands out.
Love the amazing collection of candids! So stylish and natural- all of you! I loved the photos of “your dueling cameras!”, loved you in the wicker chair, and I adore Anja’s shaggy coat, and little girl toddling about! Gorgeous necklace on you, and I love the tuxedo pants styled that way! Misja looks chic in her raccoon jacket with the stripe sleeves showing!
Fabulous shoot, and so much fun, it seems!
I am sorry I can not keep up with everyone’s names here, I am away, and there is music on. ERGH!

Hahaha, thank you Elle. I will correct your “failures” in names (funny). Thanks for dropping by and for the compliments. Hope you are having a wonderful time.
What fun pictures Greetje! I enjoyed seeing the pictures of the pictures, all of you with cameras. Great style, love your jacket and all of the wonderful accesssories you are all wearing. I think I need those glasses that Misja is wearing! Sounds like you had a lovely time.
Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks Jess, it was indeed a lovely time. Always when you are with friends. The best times.
This looks like such a fun lunch and I love all your outfits. And the parasol hat ???
It is always nice to go out with friends. As you know. And to have women with me with a creative eye and photography skills… the best.
I always think you look great with skinnies and a tailored jacket and today is no exception. This gathering brings back memories of our gathering 2 years ago so I’m a bit sad I couldn’t join you this time. At least I get to see Anja again soon 🙂
Thanks for the compliment. We did think of you and talked about you (in a good way haha). Being in Singapore has good sides and bad sides.
Great jackets are the backbone of my wardrobe but sometimes an overly tailored one can also look too mannish on my tall rather straight frame with my short hair. I do love the way you did your sleeves on this outfit with the jacket sleeves folded up and then the blouse sleeves. I don’t own any white button down blouses but this look made me think again about buying one.
Actually, this shirt is cream not white and not cotton but a sort of viscose. I choose it because it hangs more fluently if that is the right way of saying it. A white cotton shirt is more stiff and can look bulky. I tried the white shirt first by the way but I thought it boosted the masculinity of the outfit. The trick with the scrunched sleeves is one I picked up from 40+Style. If you have bare underarms, you let the eye been drawn to your waist, which makes you be better in proportion when you are straight and tall. It works for me.
I want to be there to hear the lively conversation, the teasing, the coaching and complimenting and of course the laughter that were the soundtrack of this girlfriends day. A trio of such smartly dressed ladies is not a typical
scene for what looks to be a small country village park??
You clearly had a great outing and some fun semi-candid shots to show for it.
REFRESHING!!!
The way you describe the mood, is as if you were there with us. I love these girlfriend meetings. As I said before, salt of the earth. And no, our way of dressing is not typical for the village, but because it is so near to town, the people who come there are used to smart dressing. They see it often enough. The other women in the place were not badly dressed, not at all, just perhaps not with such passion as we were haha.
Fun post again, a sort of Working girls item. Nice jeans and jacket. Casual but not. The jacket has a classic cut so therefor it is wearable for a lot of different events, that goes for the jeans too. The shoewear would make the difference high heels or booties/sneakers. Nice to see Anja again in her own style, the bohemian style fits her perfectly, it’s just her. Misja has a classic modern style I like that. So girls mission accomplished.
I wish this was my work, I would be so happy. I wouldn’t call it work. Being a fashion reporter / photographer… my dream. Well, you have to keep on dreaming right? It was a fun afternoon. Oh and have a look in your Whatsapp… I am trying to get us BVA girls together as well. In March.
Your denim jacket is beautiful and looks perfect on the set. Anja’s earrings are precious, she is always beautiful with her uncontrolled curls. The look she wears, with her hair coat is spectacular, I love her wavy blonde hair. Your positions as a photographer are great and fun. I love the jewelry you wear at the end of the post. In addition, in the photos you are also beautiful.
Darling Josep-Maria, you are always so gracious in your compliments. Thank you. And I fully agree with you that Anja has beautiful hair. Her curls might seem uncontrolled, but believe me, they are not. It takes a lot of work to make them look like this. I love her hair when she wears it like this, but also up on her hair in an untidy bun is one of my favourite styles.
That looks like such a fun outing! And it’s wonderful to see photos of 3 bloggers, all so stylish in their own ways.
Indeed, we respect and admire each other style but with no need to copy. Although we are all different we can see the beauty in the other styles. The world would be very boring if we all liked the same. And yes, it was a fun outing.
I know I’ve said this before but then you throw in another wonderful post . . . So this is my new favorite!!! I’m a huge fan of blazers..I think they add so much class & sophistication to anything. Have you ever tried it over your green sweater that you wore with that necklace recently? I think that would be more casual? Or even over that sparkly sweatshirt you have!! So many options!!
It’s always so fun seeing a glimpse into your wonderful women friends, Greetje! Thanks for including us!

It is me who should thank you. For reading and leaving such sweet comments. Your idea of wearing the jacket over the green sweater it a good one. I also have a fab combination with a text T-shirt and my boyfriend jeans (and of course this jacket), but because I have featured those boyfriend jeans quite a bit, I thought I’d better show something else first. The sparkly sweatshirt is not a good idea beause it would be very prickly underneath a jacket. Sequins sometimes have that effect.
