Wide jeans with a bright blue shirtEasy peasy outfit, wide jeans with a bright blue shirt. The accessories are black and white and I happen to have fun boots in black and white. The brand is Fluevog and I bought them in 2015 in Canada when we had a big blogger meet-up in Vancouver. Gosh, that was fun. You should click the link and have a look. Marjolein, my photographer, had been sick for a week and she requested not to take too much time for the photo shoot. No problem, of course. We shot these photos in half an hour in Zuiderpark, The Hague.

Below: I knew I had to put the flash on the camera when Marjolein took this photo against the sun. I was too lazy to do that. Again. All that fiddling.

Below: Marjolein directed me: “Why don’t you sit on that tree?” As if that is easy for a 70 year old woman with 2 1/2 inch heels. But I tried and climbed up the tree. Marjolein commented: “What’s with the hands??”

Below: Then she ordered me to lay down on the tree trunk. No sympathy for my old body nor for my new shirt. But I will grant her, both positions made for a fun photo. You can see that the boots are black on the inside and white on the outside. They have a strap around the ankle, leaving the heel bare.

Below: Another idea by Marjolein. “Why don’t you throw some dry leaves in the air?” It wasn’t easy finding dry leaves, but I got a bunch. (White earrings by Lara Design.)

Below: Falling leaves. Don’t think this shot was easy. We had to do it several times.

Below: We found some big fallen-down trees, and I did the ‘pee pose’. To be honest, I like the shirt, especially the colour, but I think it is too wide to wear with these jeans. The sleeves are fashionably long (which I think is a stupid fashion), making the shirt look even bigger. I’d better turn the sleeves up.

Below: Marjolein in orange and leopard. Scarf tight around her throat. It is better to be careful when you’ve been sick and it looks stylish.

Marjolein in an orange coat

Below: On to the restaurant for a photo with the coat over my shoulders. If you want to see more of the coat, click to this post. Marjolein again asked “What’s with the hands?” LOL

Below: Later, as we were leaving the restaurant, she briefly took her coat off, so I could take this photo. It took several shots as she was doing all sorts of strange things with her hands to tease me haha. I think it is a great outfit.

Below: We sat in the park restaurant for 2 1/2 hours. The restaurant has delicious date cookies and Marjolein bought me a box of them. The lady of the restaurant told me I could keep them in the refrigerator for three months. Whahaha, they’d never last that long.

What happened in my life this week

Saturday I felt the need to see someone again and have a coffee with them. Marita was game. See below.
We had coffee on the first floor of Vascobelo. They are situated in an old building in Haarlem, hence the beautiful windows behind us. Marita wore a grey dress on a column of black. I loved it but the weather was awful outside and indoor photos are always so bad as you can see from the one below.
(I am slouching again!)

Below: An outfit photo taken in my bedroom is also indoors of course. Usually grainy, but I can manipulate the light a little bit. At least I am not yellow caused by lamp light. The blazer and the trousers are both from ME+EM in London, a terrific shop. The blazer is cream with green houndstooth. (Link to original post with the trouser legs buttoned up.)

Late afternoon we had drinks and brown beans soup at George at Marla. Delicious as all their food always is. Often they bake cheese cookies when we come for drinks. They are so good, I really have to hold back otherwise I would take the bowl on my lap and eat one after another until there are no more.

Sunday was a day of leisure, washing and replying to blog comments.

Monday was another uneventful day. Worked on my blog post, created a few outfits and went to the physiotherapist. It felt as if I was wasting my life away. Need to find something more meaningful to do.

Tuesday the dentist removed the stitches in my mouth. I still have to be careful for another week but everything is looking hunky dory. So all in all smooth sailing through the whole process.
As the cobbler was on my way to the dentist, I picked up my new trainers. The flap in the middle is now stitched to the shoe on one side by 1/2 inch so it won’t slip. Somehow, with me, those flaps always disappear to the side.

Below: I wore an easy peasy jeans outfit. This is not really my style, but I wanted to wear the soft brown jumper again. The statement necklace brightens it up a bit, but I am not pleased with this outfit. Something is off.
The tailor elongated these jeans as they had shrunk as well in wear as in the washing machine.

Wednesday Kitty came for coffee which was so nice as I hadn’t seen her for a long time. She is doing fine but is very busy with work, children, partner and also her parents need more and more help. Forgot to take a photo so I was in the moment. (My excuse when I stupidly forget.)
In the afternoon I visited Erna, a former colleague who I keep in touch with as I like her. And I presume she likes me too. She had just moved house and it is a lovely, spacious home. It is newly built and what surprised me, was the architecture of the area. The many new houses were so divers with beautiful details (lots of them). The stone is still new and the trees are twigs, otherwise you’d think you are in an old city. Terrific. That is the way to build.
Below an impression after the houses had just been completed.

Below: Erna and me on a very dark and rainy day. Which makes an indoor photo not very sharp, even in a light and bright house. Erna’s daughter was our photographer.

Below: Before I left, I had taken this mirror photo of my outfit. It is a variation on this outfit in a previous post.

Wide jeans, black blazer and a scarf

Driving back home there was a storm coming up so peak hour traffic was earlier and it took me an hour and 15 minutes longer than the 40 minutes it took on the way there.  Oh well, I got home safe which is most important.

Then on Thursday it was glorious weather, cold but sunny. I was thankful as I had agreed to meet Marjolein in The Hague for another photo shoot. We had a lovely day. The usual recipe, coffee, lunch, photos, talking and lots of laughter. Then it suddenly came over me …I wanted new clothes…which is not too difficult in The Hague. Result: one top, one sweater and a pair of orange faux leather trousers haha. Needless to say, I am not going to make the 10 items a year. Until halfway September I was doing fine and then it went downhill. Once I was on my way down, there was no stopping me. I am now on item number 17. Oh dear.

Friday was a quiet day. I wore this jeans outfit below (link to original post with this jumper):
