Long scarf by Essentiel Antwerp

Long scarf Essentiel AntwerpLow temperatures in The Netherlands means sweaters, leather trousers, boots and scarves. This long scarf by Essentiel Antwerp doesn’t count as winter wear. Purely for decoration. Essentiel had a dress in this print as well, which was a bit short for me. Plus, a dress with such a prominent print is something you usually don’t wear too many times. As I wear a lot of black and white (boring but my favourite combination), a scarf like this is a perfect item to jazz things up. View Post

My big fluffy orange sweater and Anja

orange sweaterAs I am always on the lookout for bright coloured clothes, I immediately spotted this orange sweater. Jumping from the rack, screaming: take me home! It combines very well with my green legging with side stripe. Only the legging isn’t that warm while the sweater is. There are fashionable people who walk around bare legged in winter to go to a party in lovely strappy sandals (you know who you are). Or who wear boots in summer with a tanktop. I cannot do that. My outfits are either for winter, for summer or for in-between. Never a mix. Which is why this orange sweater is better on jeans with boots. I might try thick tights underneath the striped legging; it was rather an awesome combination. View Post

One holiday day with lots of friends

One holiday day with lots of friendsAs it happened I spent one holiday day with lots of friends, the last day. First there was lunch with Anja (blog Curly Traveller) and Misja (blog MisjaB). (You have seen both on my blog a lot of times.)

In the evening I went out to dinner with 3 friends: Marianne, Claudia and Jiske. Two other members of this group of friends were on holiday. All of these women are used to having their photograph taken, so that was all right. View Post

Looking at vintage bags in Haarlem with Sylvia

Vintage bags in HaarlemThere is this lovely little shop selling vintage bags in Haarlem. Sylvia and I had a great time looking around there. In the past I have bought a few bags of the friendly lady owner, like the grey one in this post. It started with a hobby (of course) and now she buys and sells them. I can be in that shop for a long time, looking at all the gems. This time I came out with the bright green mini bag. View Post

Having coffee in Haarlem with Misja on a Saturday morning

Coffee in Haarlem with MisjaAnything to do with friends is high on my list. Having coffee in Haarlem with Misja on a Saturday morning is just my cup of tea (pun intended). You have seen Misja on my blog several times (like here). She is a photographer who has a Street Style blog about people over 50. Beautiful pictures and a real tribute to men and women over 50. Her blog is : misjab.nl (my link will get you to her English version). She blogs both in Dutch and English. Would be too much hard work for me. View Post
