Green midi skirt by Essentiel Antwerp

Green midi skirt Essentiel AntwerpWhat do you know?? I shopped my closet again! And found this green midi skirt by Essentiel Antwerp. You have seen it once before with a fuchsia top and black boots (photo at the bottom of this post). I like it with the fuchsia top but to me it is equally nice with the brown blouse. This is making more use of what you’ve got. Something most people do of course. I am just late to the party. Call me thick. View Post

Orange leather skirt in winter

In fall you were all very enthousiastic about this orange leather skirt worn with peeptoe shoes. It is not difficult to combine it with winter clothes. Just throw on a black sweater, black tights and black boots or shoes and Bob’s your uncle. I did that at Christmas, but it was a bit too easy. Together with friend and neighbour Anja (Curly Traveller), we came up with this outfit.  View Post

An ochre dress with burgundy

Ochre dress with burgundyThe old station of a little village near Haarlem, called Vogelenzang, is the background for this ochre dress with burgundy. The dress is the last of my August finds in the Max Mara outlet. It is nice and warm, but I still added a little layer underneath as the temperatures were around freezing point. The boots are still much loved by me. You saw them last year here and here. It took me a while to style the dress as I didn’t have anything burgundy or ochre. Then I decided that dark brown was almost burgundy and by matching the boots with the belt… styling “problem” solved. (We need not overthink everything, right?) View Post

Leather, pearls and polka dots

Leather, pearls and polka dotsFinally another skirt post. Because finally I can wear my beloved Max Mara boots again. Stupid sprained ankle. Still a bit painful on high heels, but hey… I am back! This post is going to be without beautiful houses, neighbourhoods and quirky pictures. Just a plain and simple outfit post. About leather, pearls and polka dots. In my book a perfect match. Polka dots and pearls… well .. that figures. I throw in  the leather to steer away from a classic look. Not that I have anything against classic, nothing at all, but it isn’t me. View Post

Max Mara flower skirt with a blue sweater

Flower skirt MM & blue sweater (39)_LRThis Max Mara flower skirt is the last skirt I bought at the outlet in Turin. I brought back half a suitcase full of good stuff. While trying everything on in Turin, Daniela handed me three boxy sweaters to go with the skirts and I thought they looked terrific. Trying them on again at home I chickened out. I only use one of them on an A-line skirt (still to show on the blog) and the rest on pencil skirts. We didn’t select a top for the skirt which you see today. I think that this blue sweater (brand Vanilia, seen before here) is nice with it as the grey in the skirt is a bit bluish. The belt is ancient. (Remember I said I never throw out belts or scarves?) The colour brown of the belt is exactly the same as the boots. (After seeing these photos I knew I should have kept the belt just a little bit lower….) View Post
