Lemon yellow trousers on the Noordermarkt

Lemon yellow trousersOne of our favourite Saturday morning outings is going to the markets in the Amsterdam Jordaan. It was lovely weather, not too hot, not too cold. Perfect for my new lemon yellow trousers and white sneakers which I bought at LAB Women’s Clothing. When I tried these items on, I had just purchased the white asymmetric summer sweater at Levv. Remember I tried on a black sweater on red skinnies? That was the black version of this white one. It was in this post with the Shopping Saturday girls in Haarlem. That day ended abruptly with the broken finger of Sabine’s son (he is well again) and as the girls went home, I cycled to some other shops. What can I say? I am incorrigible. View Post

Four colours in one outfit

It might be easy for some people to use four colours in one outfit, but not for me. As a matter of fact, this is the first time I have pulled it off. Three colours in one outfit was the best I could do up till now and no, a multicoloured piece of clothing doesn’t count. The above photo is taken in my friend Anja’s (Curly Traveller) garden in front of her shed, with Sylvia of 40+Style standing next to me.  View Post

Cream dress by Sportmax

Cream dress by SportmaxStill on flat shoes. As this cream dress by Sportmax is too short (always was a “problem”) I added trousers. I don’t mind flat boots with trousers.

My friend Misja (MisjaB) came over for a cup of coffee/tea in my lonely hours at home and I asked her very kindly whether she would take a few outfit shots for today’s post. She agreed and we took these in the street behind my house. It was done in a couple of minutes but when you have a professional photographer like Misja, all shots are good.

Not much variety of course, as my options to create a post showing different areas or different backgrounds are limited. It will have to do dear readers. Until the knee is better. View Post

Wearing a red Sportmax dress to Marianne’s 70th birthday

Red Sportmax dressThat wasn’t easy.. choosing what to wear to Marianne’s 70th birthday party. Of course I wanted to look my best without outstaging the birthday girl. With the restriction that I had to style an outfit with flat shoes. So I opted for the black sneakers again (like last week) and worked my way up. Chose a pair of 7/8 trousers as I knew I had to show some flesh (not bare, mind you, it was too cold for that; silly fashion these days to wear sneakers with bare feet IN WINTER). Last I pulled this red Sportmax dress out of the closet. Not as flashy as I would have wanted but I liked it enough.  View Post

Winter styling of an autumn dress

Winter styling of an autumn dressWhen I bought this dress, it was supposed to be for autumn. Which struck me as strange. It is very lightweight and I get cold very easily. I therefore tried it on in summer (don’t you love wearing your new purchases as soon as possible? I do). It was evidently too warm. So I wore it in September and October with sheer hold-ups plus pumps and with a pair of 3/4 trousers plus sneakers (see this post from Paris). In November I got cold. And I tried my hand at what so many women do: I styled the dress for winter. Not my normal thing as I am a lucky so and so, I have a big wardrobe, with clothes for every season.  View Post
