King’s Day 2018

King's Day 2018As I have stated in previous years, you don’t need to look like a fool on King’s Day. Traditionally the day when everybody goes mad in The Netherlands. We celebrate the King’s birthday (April 27) with flea markets everywhere (the Dutch love to make a buck), dressed ridicously in red/white/blue or orange, preferably with an orange hat, wig or crown. And we pray for sunny weather. Or at least no rain. This year we were quite lucky, as it wasn’t raining although with temperatures of 15 degrees Celcius (or less) you could do with a coat. View Post

Purple velvet jacket

Purple velvet jacketThis outfit with the purple velvet jacket was put together by me and myself. Shopping your closet is always a good idea, but never really my favourite pastime. I know, I know, many of you are frowning now. Not very sustainable. But look at if from another point of view. All the clothes and shoes I buy support many families. Honest, hard working people manufacturing beautiful clothes, hoping to sell them (to me). Then, when I no longer want these clothes, I give them to friends. Someone has got to start the sustainable chain of second hand clothes. Let it be me. Only not for a couple of months. I will return to help the economy thrive in May (??), perhaps even sooner. Travel clothes

SAMSUNG CSCYep… I can hear you think….. “Travel clothes…. in high heels… Never”. And I so agree with you.

Last week I visited Dan (Daniela) of The Pretty Cute in Italy. Thanks to Transavia the price for a return flight is very reasonable. Dan and I have become really good friends. Which is one of the beautiful things that come from blogging. Last year you could read on my blog about our first encouter (and the second day and my return visit last year). Even though English is not our native language, we understand one another very well, even without words. View Post
